I didn't have a huge celebration surrounded my loads of people for my 31st birthday. Instead I did all the things that make me happy.

Starting from enjoying a wonderful day at the beach sipping Aperol Spritz and having gelato as a mid day snack. One of my favourite activities at the sea side is to go on a boat trip, and as a special birthday treat we rented the boat all for ourselves, cruised on the Amalfitan coast while sipping champagne and enjoying the view. After a little swim we came back to the hotel and got ready for the best meal: pizza and pasta. Yes, you only turn 31 once, so I had pizza as an appetizer followed by pasta as my main, highly recommend.

I was extremely overdressed but it was my birthday, might as well. Overall a very wholesome day spent the best way possible for me.

This summer holiday has been very special as I've only visited the Amalfi coast once as a teenager and have very few memories, I doubt I appreciated it as I should have. So coming back as an adult and for my 31st birthday has been a wonderful experience. I will make an Amalfi Coast guide at a later date, but for now let's have a look at some of the outfits I wore. Again, I didn't take as many pictures as I would have in the past, but more than my Palma trip.

You'll notice a lot of cotton and linen pieces, just as I've promised since the beginning of summer. Mixed in there is also a gorgeous silky number and straw accessories. The straw hat has been a dream keeping me protected from the harsh sun and still looking fashionable.

Also kept true to my word and travelled with a capsule wardrobe full of white, blue and nude pieces. Of course the best part is that by doing so, all of the pieces match each other and can be styled together creating numerous outfits. It was fun having the option to mix and match more outfits that I could wear in a day while still not overflowing my suitcase. Would you travel with a capsule wardrobe?

After sharing my Sicily lookbook last week and dreaming about summer for probably the whole time, I wanted to share also these pictures taken there. A different perspective than you might expect. Rather than being around the gorgeous blue water I'm surrounded by a field of cacti, a true surprise to myself when I saw it next to a lovely restaurant. It had a cozy vibe, a bit deserted but very enjoyable. Would you have expected this landscape in Sicily?

Seems a bit weird to do a summer lookbook seeing we're now fast approaching winter, but if you're anything like me, the colder it gets outside the more you're craving hot weather. This is a lookbook I filmed in Sicily and I'll soon share the pictures as well. Save it for your next summer vacation or just imagine how beautiful it would be to lounge on the beach. Honestly can't wait for the next beach holiday, but while we dream about that check out my lookbook and let me know your favorite season.

Do you remember the first time you went to the seaside? A lot of us might have gone when we were too young to remember, but do you have in mind the first time you were conscious of the experience? I remember being at the seaside as a child, playing in the sand with my sister, jumping in the water when there were waves, staying there until my fingers got pruned and I was freezing. My love for the sea beat my love for warmth and comfort, I just wanted to be a mermaid and snorkel, experience all the beautiful sea life.

As I've said so many times before, I'm a summer baby. Not just because I was born in summer, but because my soul loves the summer time. Being in any environment with water brings me tremendous joy, just like when I was a child. It's my happy place. The only major thing that changed is my courage to go into cold water. Don't care for that anymore. Even so, if I'm on a boat trip I will always jump in the water as many times as I'm given the chance. I love everything about the seaside. Listening to the waves, the salty smell of the sea, the feeling of sand between my toes, the water on my skin, it's all just pure bliss. So tell me, what is your favorite part of beach holidays?

I've been on a foodie kick lately, trying to recreate a lot of Italian recipes from my summer holiday in Sicily. With that in mind I wanted to share an Italian food diary post from that trip. Usually wouldn't post two food posts one after the other, but we all need a bit of mid-week comfort food inspiration. As you kow Italian is one of my favorite cuisines and food cultures. And like most people, I could have that every day without getting bored, which I did when I lived in Italy.

Have you had enough of my love for Rome or happy for more? This is my last one from Rome, for this year at least. It's a short and sweet post, sharing a few important touristic attractions like the "Altare della patria" and "fori imperiali". I have to say that "Fori imperiali" really impressed me with it's grandiosity and beauty. I won't start again as all I've been talking about is fabulous Rome, so I'll just leave you with these last few pictures from my trip. Have you been enjoying these fashion-travel posts? Do let me know if you'd like more!

On another note, this month has been progressing well so far and something fun is coming up starting with Wednesday, so make sure to come back. Hope you babes love what I have planned for you! I'm pretty excited, but more details will follow Wednesday!

Rome is one of the most historically rich cities in the world, having one of the most influential history in the world. Walking around the center is like being in a museum. Every corner hides a picturesque view just waiting to be discovered. Additionally  it's possibly one of the most photogenic cities, not to mention the to-die-for food. Italian food in general is amazing, but food in Rome was out of this world. If given the opportunity I would fly out to Rome just to have a pasta dish and enjoy the Roman atmosphere.

This wasn't my first time visiting Rome, I had traveled there on vacation with my family when I was in high school. That time around it hadn't amazed me as much and every time someone would tell me its their favorite city I would remain unfazed. It took me coming back to Rome to realize two things. Firstly, the first time I visited we barely saw anything. We visited a few of the touristic attractions and that's it, so understandably I wasn't impressed. Secondly, when you visit a city or country as an adult, you'll always view it with a different perspective. I fell in love with every corner, every cobblestone and every building! It's astonishing and when you think about the history of the city it amazes you even more. I would definitely go back hence why I threw a coin in the Trevi fountain

Fun fact: we've all heard the axiom "All the roads lead to Rome" and while being on one of the original Roman roads I asked where that saying came from. My funny boyfriend explained to me that it was logical all the roads would lead to Rome as they were built out of Rome, which obviously makes sense yet we never think about it logically, so I like the proverb interpretation that all the methods of doing something will lead to the same result in the end.

Did you know this fun Roman fact?

Kind regards,
Carina
December is here, literally can't believe it's almost the end of the year! I love the festive season and the Christmas spirit in the air and will definitely create some gift inspos for you guys. Admittedly I haven't been very consistent with blogging this year, despite my wish to create more content. How ironic is that? I made it a goal last year to post more often and instead it has been my least consistent year since starting blogging. It's not pictures I was lacking as much as the inspiration to write. Hopefully this block will come to an end with the beginning of the festive season because I have loads of ideas! Before we get into the festivities there are a few more pictures to share from my trip to Rome. Prepare for touristy overload from Rome! Not much to say, except how amazing Rome is!

Have you visited Rome?

Ciao tutti! Benvenuti a Roma or my Rome vlog since we're not actually all in Rome at the moment, unfortunately. This was my second time visiting Rome, but my first time as an adult which was a totally different experience than when I traveled there in high school. The first thing I realized was how little I had seen from Rome that time around. Even now, there was still so much to visit. Hopefully next time we'll have more time to explore Rome and obviously more time to eat. Food in Italy is delicious in general, but I discovered a few new dishes this time around that I would eat weekly if I could. In this vlog I'm taking you around Rome and showing you my outfits. Hope you enjoy it and subscribe for more.

PS: Yes, I do speak Italian 😼

Let's start today's post and this week with a small, but powerful reminder. You are the sole writer, creator and director of your story. Outside factors might influence it, but as long as you believe and work hard, your story will follow the script you have planed with small surprises and hick-ups along the way, but things even more beautiful than you imagined will happen. I love traveling and I keep saying that like a broken record, but it's true and feel so fortunate of how much I've already traveled this year. It's so satisfying and something I always try to make happen as it brings me so much happiness. It's of course not cheap, but with good planning it can be somewhat affordable and always worth it, just look at these pictures showing the stunning Lecco. Doesn't it look worth every effort?!

Weddings are amazing for 2 reasons in particular: celebrating love, which is simply amazing and should be done all the time, and dressing up. You all know just how much I adore to glam it up, but do need a special occasion for that. As much as I enjoy dressing up for work, some outfits just aren't possible. Can you imagine me arriving at the office in a gown, would be hilarious but not the best way to start the day. For this Italian Wedding I chose a green satin dress that has ruffles and asymmetric details paired with my Ted Baker princess shoes. I don't get enough reasons to wear these beauties, but rest assured they get out with every opportunity possible. Another recent favorite are the earrings I'm wearing, love the celestial theme which is so dear and near to my heart.

What's your go-to for a wedding?

A couple of years ago I visited the gorgeous Sicilian island Favignana. The charming island still holds a special place in my heart. I've created wonderful memories there and ate the best Sicilian sweets, just thinking about it makes me hungry. Remembering my holiday in the enchanting island encouraged me to share some unseen landscape pictures. They are mostly pictures of the gorgeous water that fascinated me. Have you been to Sicily? Did you love it as much as I did?

If you wanna see some outfit pictures from that vacation check out this post or this stripped one and maybe this cute one

Have you ever wondered how summer would look like in just one clothing piece? Just me? Well, this is what summer would look like in a dress. It has the perfect white and blue stripes, off shoulder line and ruffles, all in a light fabric. Basically, everything we want in summer: cute, light and fun, yet easy to wear.

The tittle of the post has a double meaning. Not only would this dress be a wonderful interpretation for summer, but this summer I plan to live in this dress. I will admit that my favorite part is the ruffled off shoulder line of the dress. Honestly, can't wait to style it more. Imagine how pretty it's going to look at the sea side! This time, I chose to wear it off shoulder, because it suits better my current style, however you can also wear the SheIn dress on the shoulder, like it was intended. You know, I just like to "make it my own".

How is your weekend so far?

We've come to end of the Tuscany looks. These pictures were taken in Siena, just like the last ones. This was my second time in the Tuscany region, but the first time visiting Siena and San Gimignano. As you would expect, it was beautiful, the food was delicious and the wine incredible.

The last outfit combines a white SheIn dress, that has bell sleeves and cold shoulder details, with over the knee boots and faux fur vest. It would also work with a cotton or any light fabric vest, but styling the dress with a vest, lets you highlight the cold shoulder details, which is what I was going for.

I will say that since it's a white dress, without any extra slip or lining underneath, you have to be careful while in the sun. In the city I would recommend wearing it with either vests or a slip underneath. However, imagine how cool it would look with a neon bathing suit at the beach!!!

Which was your favourite look from my Tuscany week?

After spending time to style this look and being proud with myself, I presented myself in front of my boyfriend who had the sweetest reaction. No, just kidding, he had the worst! He asked me if I was ready for bed, which got him a very confused look. Of course, I asked what on earth was he trying to pull, so he informed me that I was dressed in pajamas. Initially I laughed, then kicked him for mocking my well thought outfit.

I'm not one to usually mix patterns, but was feeling courageous, so I paired this SheIn blouse that has both Gingham and stripes with my thick striped palazzo pants. The look is playful, stylish and not a pajama, though it was just as comfortable to wear.

Hope you enjoy the lookbook. The pictures from the first look are already up and the last look will be published Friday!

This past weekend I've been traveling to different cities in Tuscany and one of them was San Gimignano. The small town has kept the medieval architecture making it a magical place to visit. It's fascinating to stroll and see it in all its glory.

For my outfit I chose an elegant dress styled in a bohemian-edgy way, paired with a wool floppy hat, leather jacket and boots. The idea behind was to make it fun to wear during the daytime. Of course that got me a few odd stares, but it's too pretty not to style during daytime. You might have seen this SheIn dress in my last haul. It has ruffly details and velvet dots, not to mention the fun flowing skirt.

After walking through the whole town and buying all the cheese, I had the amazing idea to visit the torture museum. If you follow me on Instagram, you would have seen the stories shameless plug. It was unsettling to say the least, but also interesting to see.

Would you wear this look?

A few weeks back I shared a "Style Inspo" all about mules, so it was time to share an outfit wearing the fabulous shoe trend. To be fair these aren't actually mules, they're a pair of statement sandals (wore them also here), but I put the strap inside. Before you ask, they were quite comfortable as mules, not to mention they also complimented the outfit quite beautifully.

If you recall, in my last post of January I shared a layered look with a bandage crop over a dressy shirt. Since layering is so much fun, today I layered a floral dress over a dressy shirt creating a spring look.

This dress is quite old, it survived all of my closet clearings, because I still love it, even if I rarely wear it. It has to do with the fact that my favourite flowers are blue roses and as you can see this dress is full of them. So, if you ever want to buy me flowers, definitely go for blue roses.

What's you favourite flower?

The Fashion Week madness has began and after admiring all the gorgeous bloggers, we look at the models. They're outfits are to envy. How do they pull such effortless chic looks? Well today I'm sharing my top 5 tips for achieving the model off duty style.

Today is all about happiness! The sun was out for a couple of moments, which meant I managed to shoot a few pictures for you. I've been dying to share a look with this metallic pleated skirt. Pleated skirts are by nature very feminine and romantic, but with a little bit of creativity they can also be sporty or edgy. To give it an edgy vibe I styled it with fishnet tights, a choker and leather jacket. To make it look more casual, I added a pom pom hat and a loose fitted shirt. Put all the elements together and it transforms the elegant pleated skirt into something more relaxed with an avant-garde element.

Back to happiness! Let's talk about my gorgeous rings from Happiness Boutique. The boutique carries beautiful designs and qualitative products at affordable prices, not to mention they come in the cutest packaging. This is a german brand born from the wish to spread happiness and inspire people. I mean...who doesn't love a brand with a lovely philosophy?!

The two rings I'm rocking are rose gold plated titanium and as you can see they have a minimalist and chic look. I've been obsessed with the evil eye ring (clickable links at the end). Sadly the wrap one is a bit too big for me, but I still wanted to show it to you. Another fun thing is their reward program and bi-monthly giveaways, which you should definitely check out when purchasing. The lovely girls at Happiness Boutique also offered me a 10% discount code for you, my beautiful readers, it's carinavardie, so make sure to use it when purchasing.

While the items were sent to me, this isn't a paid post! These are my genuine opinions, I do not gain anything from the links!
