This was my first time visiting Amsterdam. It was a trip I had planned to the last detail as I had many fabulous places to visit, mostly food related but of course also sightseeing. In the first few minutes I was already in love with Amsterdam's charming canals and captivating architecture. There was also a very pleasant atmosphere in the air that attracted me. Our first stop, even before checking in, was Ree7 for breakfast. It was delightful with a few cute little tables outside and a surprisingly big interior seating area that had the cutest simple decor. We had a very early 6am flight to Amsterdam, so we were tired but excited to explore which is why after breakfast we decided to stroll around the canals til our hotel. Since it was early there were few people on the streets which made the experience perfect, so serene and relaxing to simply admire the city undisturbed.
Have you visited Amsterdam and what was your first impression?

Welcome to Seattle babes, a city surrounded by water, mountains and forests. Seattle was one of our favorite stops on this US trip and I'm sure in the following posts you will discover why and fall in love with the city as well. It has one of the most gorgeous sceneries we saw on this trip and as luck with have it gorgeous weather, which apparently is rare. Also, it happens to be home to Amazon, Microsoft and Starbucks.
Now Seattle has good coffee beyond Starbucks, but obviously I wanted to try it in the original Starbucks store. Needless to say I drank a lot of coffees daily. Don't mean to disappoint anyone, but in case you were thinking of visiting the OG, Starbucks tastes the same everywhere so don't expect anything out of the ordinary from their original shop. There is one Starbucks shop worth visiting, which I'll talk about in a following blog post.
Back to the landscape. The view from the space needle is breathtakingly beautiful and I'm happy we decided to go up, but in case you don't want to spend your money on it an equally beautiful view you can get from a boat ride or just from the waterfront admiring the mountains. The bubble gum wall is also quite fun to stop by and snap a colorful picture.

The more I travel the more I relate to the following quote: "When you leave a beautiful place, you carry it with you wherever you go. I still dream of so many of the gorgeous places I got to see in my travels so far and it only makes me realize how much more there is to see and how little I've seen so far. For now I am happy to relive these gorgeous views while sharing some pictures of my holiday.
Would you leave everything behind to go traveling?

London always finds a way to surprise you with its beauty and many hidden locations. I love traveling and exploring new places. At times we become so focused on visiting other cities or countries that we neglect our own home city. After moving to London I promised myself to explore it and discover a new café / cute place at least every month. I love how well this has been going lately and super proud I found this cute Canal. It quite unusual with the boats and tunnels, but London is full of unique places. Sooo my lovelies, go and explore your home city this weekend, it might just surprise you.

My love for dressy shirts started in Uni, when I begun elevating my day to day style. I started buying blouses in all the colors of the rainbow, until I realized there was one shade missing: white. So I started obsessing over white dressy shirts, to the point that I now have 9 of them. They're just so easy to wear and elevate any outfit. Today I styled the latest addition to the collection and I'll also share with you 5 reasons why you should add a statement white shirt to your collection. Curious? Keep scrolling.

We've noticed in both the Paris and New York Fashion Week round-up that the asymmetrical trend is here to stay and play. It almost felt as if it would replace the off shoulder trend, which has been delighting us these past few years. To be honest both trends are amazing and look flattering on everyone, so in my eyes one does not exclude the other. Even if the off shoulder trend stops being all the craze, I would still style the off shoulder pieces in my wardrobe.
This fab dress incorporates not only the asymmetrical trend, but also has ruffles, which only contributes to the sweet and feminine feel of the dress. I adore cute pieces, but today I wanted more character and more of a "fierce punch" to my look, so I styled the dress with fishnet tights and heeled combat boots. The contrast between the dress and fishnet tights creates a lovely effect and I adore the edgy vibe fishnet tights can give to an otherwise sweet outfit.
This dress was a gift from Cari's Closet, Ireland based shop. I mean, it has my name, of course I had to check it out! Have a look if you're curious.
What do you think about this look?

As the weather gets cooler I return to my autumnal style, which is much more structured than what I opted for during the spring and summer. Slowly we're going to also start layering to the moon to keep warm, while still chic. I might do a tips post about layering like a pro, keep an eye out for that in the next week or so. Also, are you enjoying my "5 Tips" series? ( Examples here, here and here)
Back to the outfit! Just because fall is here, it doesn't mean it's time to put away the white pants, on the contrary, white pants are going to be a huge thing this fall-winter season. White in general! With a warm blouse/jumper and a coat layered on top, your white summer pants get an autumnal vibe and you're getting more use out of your summer clothes. It's a win-win situation. For this look, I styled the pants with a black turtleneck blouse, because I enjoy the elegance of it, and my ankle boots. If you know me, you know I love a good boot and these ones are the ones for me this season.
Another big thing for fall-winter is the maxi bag. A few years back maxi bags were my favorite, simply because you can carry your life in them. However, they get so heavy and end up hurting my back, which is why nowadays I prefer the mini bag. The mini bag trend brought me so much joy this past spring-summer season and I will continue to use them during fall-winter, BUT it's nice to keep it fresh. The only thing I try to force myself with a maxi bags is not to overstuff them, which I highly recommend. To finish off the look I added my military statement coat, which is another trend this fall and most falls to be honest.
What do you guys think?

This has been the year of pink. We've seen it everywhere in spring and summer and now it's going to continue it's reign in fall. Another trend that is back and taking over quickly is the metallic trend, especially silver as we've witnessed in catwalks. It's going to be a fall of colors and excitement! Are you ready to dazzle this autumn?

Shop my style:

The next trend that we're styling and having fun with is the "Waist Belts" one. They are back in style ready to cinch you in, offering a bit of structure, style and pop to your outfit, not to mention their functionality. You can opt for leather, pleather or soft fabric belts, depending on your needs and wanted effect. They can be a statement piece to an otherwise simple look or they can help you transform a vest into a dress, like I opted for. This is one of the easiest and fuss free trends, since you can also add it to your coat and be done with it.
As mentioned, I chose to use it transform a vest into a dress, though don't worry, I was wearing shorts underneath. It also helped define my shape, since the vest has a straight cut. I went for a girly structured style, but I can imagine it with feminine ruffly pieces of edgier ones, looking just as good.
Will you be dabbling in this trend this fall?

I can't believe we're at the end of my Dominican Republic outfit posts, it's been wonderful sharing my looks and spreading positiveness over the past month. Soon I'll be sharing a very exciting news with you, make sure to come back on Monday for that.
Until then, this last outfit combines white and navy in both my look and background. I actually shot it on purpose here, because I liked how matchy matchy it all was. It's kind of silly, but it made me smile.
Since the moment I tried these pants on I fell in love. They are the perfect summer pants, thanks to the light fabric, white color, comfortable and incredibly flattering cut. Though the fabric is flowing, they have structure and can be styled for both work and leisure time. The lace crop top hangs lovely on the body and styles extremely chic with the pants. This color combination just screams summer.
What's your favorite summer combo?

I've been wanting to color my hair from a young age, but was never "allowed" because my natural hair color was so light that it might get damaged. My only solutions have been washout colors. I've colored my hair pink a few times over the years, but never have I dabbled in other colors. Since my favorite color is petrol blue, I wanted to finally experiment with it on my hair. Luckily L'oreal came out with the Colorista Washouts and my dream was fulfilled. The color is quite bold, so I opted for an ombre effect. I did everything at home one night just hoping for the best and it came out lovely.
As you've noticed my new hair matches my ballerinas and bag. From the moment I saw myself with this color, I felt like a mermaid and knew it would look amazing with this Zara dress. The dress has ruffles and bell sleeves, which makes it a bohemian dream. It's giving me Zimmermann and Philosophy vibes, which only makes me love it more.
Would you color your hair blue/green?

The Gothic architecture of the Milanese Duomo makes it fascinating and a perfect shooting location. This has to be one of my favorite shootings from this year, and the pictures came out fabulously. Truthfully, it was super hot already at nine AM and people were already gathering to go up, but luckily I did manage to get some alone pictures.
The outfit is feminine and romantic. The off shoulder ruffled crop is a new favorite in my closet, already plan on styling it with a few different looks. Honestly I rarely receive compliments from strangers, but on this day I was stoped by a few people who complimented me. I even received a marriage proposal, which was hilarious. Obviously, this outfit is a winner. It's always nice when others appreciate the effort you put in your look.
By the way, I didn't climb all the way up the Duomo in heels, I had a shoe change for the pictures. It got me a few stares and giggles, but it was totally worth it.
Have you been up on the Duomo? Did you love it as much as me?

When I first saw this blouse it seemed too puffy and ruffly, hence I didn't purchase it. While shopping the following day, I thought about trying it on to see how it would fit, still not sure if it was meant to be. Once I couldn't find it anymore, I realized just how perfect it was. After running like a crazy lady from store to store, I finally found it and tried it on. It was a match made in heaven. Moral of the story? When you find something that catches your attention, always give it a go and evaluate how it looks on you.
The ruffly sleeves make it incredibly photogenic, creating those Insta perfect pictures. I mean who knew?! The blouse is statement enough on it's own, so for the first outing, I paired it with navy high rise shorts and petrol blue ballerinas. It's girly yet effortless chic.
Are you loving the statement sleeves trend?

We are all guilty of looking at our wardrobes and thinking we have nothing to wear. By all, I mean most of us fashionista girls. This was me today, wanting to wear a cute outfit yet something new and creative. Sometimes it's easy to get stuck in a routine of wearing the same outfits all the time. There isn't anything wrong with that, however one of my goals for this year was to be more creative with my outfits. I love fashion, so imagining and creating different looks is fun for me.
It's also nice to reuse and repurpose the items already present in my closet, instead of constantly shopping. Now, I do shop a lot, but would say this year I've been more thoughtful and really considered my needs. Trying to constantly visualize new styles has also been a fun creative exercise.
The fun aspect of today's look are the ruffles created from the overlapping of the dress with the dress shirt. It created a ruffled hemline, which offers a trendy vibe to the look. Of course I paired everything with my statement bow sandals.
Are you guilty of complaining you have nothing to wear?

Have you ever wondered how summer would look like in just one clothing piece? Just me? Well, this is what summer would look like in a dress. It has the perfect white and blue stripes, off shoulder line and ruffles, all in a light fabric. Basically, everything we want in summer: cute, light and fun, yet easy to wear.
The tittle of the post has a double meaning. Not only would this dress be a wonderful interpretation for summer, but this summer I plan to live in this dress. I will admit that my favorite part is the ruffled off shoulder line of the dress. Honestly, can't wait to style it more. Imagine how pretty it's going to look at the sea side! This time, I chose to wear it off shoulder, because it suits better my current style, however you can also wear the SheIn dress on the shoulder, like it was intended. You know, I just like to "make it my own".

Though fun, the last day in Madrid was rainy and gloomy. However the city's breathtaking center lifted up the mood and I still enjoyed walking around. My outfit was effortless and comfy with a 90's vibe to it.

Spring is all about pastel colors and romantic hues, but what about the girl who likes wearing all black no matter what season it is? Why should she feel less "springy", just because she doesn't enjoy pastel shades? Today's post is for all of my fashionistas who enjoy rocking an all black look all day everyday!
Except the pastel colors, the most important characteristics in a spring look are the fabrics. As soon as the weather gets warmer, everyone is wearing flowing pieces and crochets. From the pictures you see that I opted for a crochet blouse with bell sleeves. The bell sleeves aren't just trendy, they also give movement to the look and for a touch of "badass", I added a faux leather crop top underneath. The bottom half consists of a light fabric pair of culottes and fishnet stockings. As you can see I combined different trends and vibes to create a more complex look.
The crochet, flowing fabrics and bell sleeves offer the spring elements needed in this outfit, while the faux leather crop and the fishnet stockings give it character.

My mum was visiting over the weekend, which meant strolling trough Milan for hours and taking pictures in all my favorite places. I only shot one outfit, because it was nicer to enjoy her company and talk. I know you understand and don't mind. I did however post a tone of InstaStories, so you can follow me there if you would like to. There was a lot of walking involved, 11km per day to be precise, so my outfit selection needed to be comfy, but still cute.
Since showing you this bell sleeved open back shirt, I wanted to wear it and this was the perfect occasion. The blouse is trendy and adorable, yet easy to wear. The white and blue striped matched perfectly with my white Nike sneakers and sunglasses, while the scarf combined blue elements from the shirt with the black jeans, tying it all together. The Louis Vuitton bag adds a feminine touch with its muted color and cute design.

Just as I was getting exciting that spring is here, it started raining for two days. However that didn't bring me down, as it was the perfect opportunity to style a new piece in my closet. The faux fur vest doesn't only provide warmth, but also chicness to a look. To be honest, I've been on a hunt for the perfect vest this whole winter, if not since last year, but couldn't find one that had the desired texture and look, while being accessible in price. This isn't sponsored by the way, I purchased it with my own money!
The grayish purple colour made me fall in love with the vest, but the model is what got me hooked. The rolls, we'll just call them that, provide texture and definition, which a lot of other vest models lack in my humble opinion. For the first time styling it, I opted for a simple look that wouldn't distract from the star of the show. Though it's hard to distract from this fluffy gorgeousness. The liquid silver shoes compliment the vest perfectly, while adding a pop of something special. Underneath the vest I added a faux leather jacket, but a blazer, coat or even a knit would look fabulous. Everything else was very minimalist, a black turtleneck blouse and black jeans with a slit at the knees.
What are you looking for in a faux fur vest?

Today is all about happiness! The sun was out for a couple of moments, which meant I managed to shoot a few pictures for you. I've been dying to share a look with this metallic pleated skirt. Pleated skirts are by nature very feminine and romantic, but with a little bit of creativity they can also be sporty or edgy. To give it an edgy vibe I styled it with fishnet tights, a choker and leather jacket. To make it look more casual, I added a pom pom hat and a loose fitted shirt. Put all the elements together and it transforms the elegant pleated skirt into something more relaxed with an avant-garde element.
Back to happiness! Let's talk about my gorgeous rings from Happiness Boutique. The boutique carries beautiful designs and qualitative products at affordable prices, not to mention they come in the cutest packaging. This is a german brand born from the wish to spread happiness and inspire people. I mean...who doesn't love a brand with a lovely philosophy?!
The two rings I'm rocking are rose gold plated titanium and as you can see they have a minimalist and chic look. I've been obsessed with the evil eye ring (clickable links at the end). Sadly the wrap one is a bit too big for me, but I still wanted to show it to you. Another fun thing is their reward program and bi-monthly giveaways, which you should definitely check out when purchasing. The lovely girls at Happiness Boutique also offered me a 10% discount code for you, my beautiful readers, it's carinavardie, so make sure to use it when purchasing.
While the items were sent to me, this isn't a paid post! These are my genuine opinions, I do not gain anything from the links!
