Have you had enough of my love for Rome or happy for more? This is my last one from Rome, for this year at least. It's a short and sweet post, sharing a few important touristic attractions like the "Altare della patria" and "fori imperiali". I have to say that "Fori imperiali" really impressed me with it's grandiosity and beauty. I won't start again as all I've been talking about is fabulous Rome, so I'll just leave you with these last few pictures from my trip. Have you been enjoying these fashion-travel posts? Do let me know if you'd like more!

On another note, this month has been progressing well so far and something fun is coming up starting with Wednesday, so make sure to come back. Hope you babes love what I have planned for you! I'm pretty excited, but more details will follow Wednesday!

Rome is one of the most historically rich cities in the world, having one of the most influential history in the world. Walking around the center is like being in a museum. Every corner hides a picturesque view just waiting to be discovered. Additionally  it's possibly one of the most photogenic cities, not to mention the to-die-for food. Italian food in general is amazing, but food in Rome was out of this world. If given the opportunity I would fly out to Rome just to have a pasta dish and enjoy the Roman atmosphere.

This wasn't my first time visiting Rome, I had traveled there on vacation with my family when I was in high school. That time around it hadn't amazed me as much and every time someone would tell me its their favorite city I would remain unfazed. It took me coming back to Rome to realize two things. Firstly, the first time I visited we barely saw anything. We visited a few of the touristic attractions and that's it, so understandably I wasn't impressed. Secondly, when you visit a city or country as an adult, you'll always view it with a different perspective. I fell in love with every corner, every cobblestone and every building! It's astonishing and when you think about the history of the city it amazes you even more. I would definitely go back hence why I threw a coin in the Trevi fountain

Fun fact: we've all heard the axiom "All the roads lead to Rome" and while being on one of the original Roman roads I asked where that saying came from. My funny boyfriend explained to me that it was logical all the roads would lead to Rome as they were built out of Rome, which obviously makes sense yet we never think about it logically, so I like the proverb interpretation that all the methods of doing something will lead to the same result in the end.

Did you know this fun Roman fact?

Kind regards,
Carina
December is here, literally can't believe it's almost the end of the year! I love the festive season and the Christmas spirit in the air and will definitely create some gift inspos for you guys. Admittedly I haven't been very consistent with blogging this year, despite my wish to create more content. How ironic is that? I made it a goal last year to post more often and instead it has been my least consistent year since starting blogging. It's not pictures I was lacking as much as the inspiration to write. Hopefully this block will come to an end with the beginning of the festive season because I have loads of ideas! Before we get into the festivities there are a few more pictures to share from my trip to Rome. Prepare for touristy overload from Rome! Not much to say, except how amazing Rome is!

Let's start today's post and this week with a small, but powerful reminder. You are the sole writer, creator and director of your story. Outside factors might influence it, but as long as you believe and work hard, your story will follow the script you have planed with small surprises and hick-ups along the way, but things even more beautiful than you imagined will happen. I love traveling and I keep saying that like a broken record, but it's true and feel so fortunate of how much I've already traveled this year. It's so satisfying and something I always try to make happen as it brings me so much happiness. It's of course not cheap, but with good planning it can be somewhat affordable and always worth it, just look at these pictures showing the stunning Lecco. Doesn't it look worth every effort?!

As I started writing this post about this fabulously colorful passage in Bucharest I realized this is the first time you see my new hairstyle. I've shared this already on my Instagram, but for my readers who don't follow me there - you really should though - this is like a cute surprise. Long time readers know I've had a fringe before, usually get one every 4-5 years and have been doing so since school. It's typically a spur of the moment, however this time I actually thought this through, for a few months to be honest.

I love having bangs, but the reality is they are very high maintenance. I'm blessed with hair that grows fast which is fun and has given me the opportunity to cut my hair different styles care free frequently along the years, but when you want to keep your fringe as cute as the hairdresser cut it it's frustrating - though I'm not complaining.

"Fun Fact" bangs get greasier faster than the rest of your hair as they are always in contact with your forehead and you continuously touch them, somehow we're always with a hand in our hair arranging that fringe. You'll wake up in the morning with your fringe looking like a broom and the wind is your Nr. 1 enemy, also exercising looks funny for everyone surrounding you and sometimes no matter what you do it refuses to cooperate. Despite all that, on good days it looks amazing and can save a bad hair day, no make-up day or even lazy dressing day. It might seem that there are more bad points to it then good ones, but the good outweighs the bad.

This time I went for a piece-y fringe which has major cool factor and is also easier to style. I'm really loving it, however it's already started to grow. I'm going to keep it for a while. In case you were wondering, I also got a trim and had some more layers put in but will carry on with the long hair for now.

What do you think? Do you love the fringe?

The Romanian Athenaeum is a landmark in Bucharest which operates as a concert hall. This fairytale -like palace has been a temple of Romanian art and culture since 1888. It was designed by french architect Albert Galleron with 6 columns and mosaics with the faces of 5 Romanian rulers: Neagoe Basarab, Alexandru cel Bun, Vasile Lupu, Matei Basarab and King Carol I. The inside is even more impressive than the outside, they didn't let me shoot inside though so you'll have to visit for yourself.

Did you know it was built almost entirely with money donated by the Romanian citizens?! The campaign was 'give a penny for the Athenaeum' - how cool is that?

I shared multiple posts from Bucharest along the years, however it's unmissable that I only showed a bit as I have always focused on spending time with friends and family. That's always a priority, but this time I really tried to reveal a bit more of Bucharest, not just the same locations as I've done in the past. Bucharest is my home city for anyone new here and is filled with charming restaurants and buildings. Bucharest, once known as "little Paris", is the capital city of Romania. The nickname was given because of the dashing architecture and sophisticated elite. Though during the Communism a lot of socialist-style buildings were constructed, Bucharest kept part of its vibrancy and elegance.

We're going to start our little visual journey in the old town, which started as a artisans and merchants district. Now the narrow streets are packed with restaurants and pubs making for a quirky summer city destination for nights out in Bucharest. The Old Town isn't only famous for the nightlife, it's also filled with historical and cultural attractions. You can clearly see how the the second world war, earthquakes and the communist time have affected the old town, but there's also beauty in the captivating streets. One of my favorite places is the Carousel of Light and shoutout to everyone remembering me raving about the Carousel of Light 3 years ago. This bookshop is so special and I always bring everyone to see it and recommend it wholeheartedly.

Las Vegas is a magical and mysterious place, a disruptive reality where time seems to stop. From an architectural and innovative point of view it's simply amazing what was created there. This was my second time in Vegas - if you remember the first time I took you along all the great hotels on the Strip. I have seen most of them back in 2014 but I still love to visit and admire them, they deserve it. I'm always fascinated by the flamingos at Flamingo Hotel and by the interior garden decorations at Bellagio, which never cease to amaze. You can never get bored in Las Vegas! I love the diversity and chaos, so much fun and I recommend everyone visit at least once.

Navy and white stripes are always a must during the summer time, the nautical theme is perfect to bring summer vibes into the city. What I appreciate most about these striped loose fitted trousers is the combination of both thin and thick stripes. The blend of both types of stripes give the trousers more character. These type of trousers elongate and flatter the figure, which is why I adore them so much. I find they look best with some sort of cropped top, on this day I had chosen a light knit cropped jumper, but with the current heatwave a barely there crop top might be a better choice. The fabric of the trousers is lightweight which is why they would still be wearable with this London heatwave, however you're probably better off wearing a lightweight flowing dress.

Are you living in the UK? How are you dealing with this heatwave?

This post comes as proof of how much I've embraced florals and fun patterns, as I mentioned in my 27 - reflective editorial post. I love how fun and bright this kimono is, but also how much it feels like my style. This is something that about a year and a half ago wouldn't have been possible. It's fun to reflect just how much personal style can evolve. The floral kimono was perfect against the urban Seattle sceneries, creating a beautiful contrast.

In what way has your style evolved?

Welcome to Seattle babes, a city surrounded by water, mountains and forests. Seattle was one of our favorite stops on this US trip and I'm sure in the following posts you will discover why and fall in love with the city as well. It has one of the most gorgeous sceneries we saw on this trip and as luck with have it gorgeous weather, which apparently is rare. Also, it happens to be home to Amazon,  Microsoft and Starbucks.

Now Seattle has good coffee beyond Starbucks, but obviously I wanted to try it in the original Starbucks store. Needless to say I drank a lot of coffees daily. Don't mean to disappoint anyone, but in case you were thinking of visiting the OG, Starbucks tastes the same everywhere so don't expect anything out of the ordinary from their original shop. There is one Starbucks shop worth visiting, which I'll talk about in a following blog post.

Back to the landscape. The view from the space needle is breathtakingly beautiful and I'm happy we decided to go up, but in case you don't want to spend your money on it an equally beautiful view you can get from a boat ride or just from the waterfront admiring the mountains. The bubble gum wall is also quite fun to stop by and snap a colorful picture.

I bought this skirt last year and since then have shared multiple outfits with it. Since the beginning I shared how much I adore it and after a year it still is one of my favorite pieces. The pleated design makes it sweet and feminine, but the slit gives a sexy vibe. It's flowing having a lot of movement as you walk or dance around, which makes the style even more flattering. I could praise it all day long!

Do you have a clothing piece you can't imagine your wardrobe without? That kind of item that you can throw on whenever and it will make you feel fabulous.

Editing these pictures and putting together the post not only makes me miss being on vacation, but also my pink hair. I simply adore how fun, girly and sassy it looks. It's a shame it last only a few washes, don't you agree? Before the summer will end I'll probably color my hair pink at least once more and I'll make sure to take a lot of pictures to share with you. Let me know if you would also like to see the process of me coloring my hair.

The pink hair also looks great with blue and green hues. A few weeks ago I told that my newest color obsession is pink with petrol blue, that love has only grown. The subtle way in which the pink strands of hair look against the forest green top only reinforces my wish to style these two shades even more often.

For this look I also tried something new and a bit outside my comfort zone. I don't usually buy into trends if I don't feel they match my style and personality, however I couldn't stop from purchasing the skinny sunnies. They don't particularly match my sense of fashion nor do they compliment my face shape, but they are a fun trend to try and I felt very sassy wearing them. When buying into trends that you know won't stay in your wardrobe for long, I highly recommend acquiring the affordable version.  It's probably one of those trends we'll look back on and wonder what and why. Fashion is meant to be fun tho, so experiment and enjoy taking risks. You will always wear another outfit tomorrow.

Do you like the skinny sunnies trend?

The more I travel the more I relate to the following quote: "When you leave a beautiful place, you carry it with you wherever you go. I still dream of so many of the gorgeous places I got to see in my travels so far and it only makes me realize how much more there is to see and how little I've seen so far. For now I am happy to relive these gorgeous views while sharing some pictures of my holiday.

Would you leave everything behind to go traveling?

The first stop on our holiday in the States was San Francisco. I was beyond excited to explore the city as I had heard and read so many amazing stories, I had high hopes. The problem when being told how incredible a destination is, is that the expectations become greater than the reality. After exploring the city for myself I realized the vision in my mind didn't match the real San Francisco, so I felt disappointed. However, it's not the cities fault but my own for fantasizing too much it would look like in the movies. I've also learned that you need to find people who feel and perceive things similarly to you when seeking advice. We all have different expectations and appreciate different things, so it's only natural to trust the opinion of someone with a similar view.

That being said, San Francisco was a lovely city full of cute corners filled with flowers and colorful houses. I especially fell in love with the Palace of Fine Arts which I featured in last week's post. As a huge fan of flowers I adored seeing them everywhere, it filled my with joy and positiveness. I also appreciated the sunny weather which allowed me to live my best spring fashionable life. For this trip I really wanted a cardigan that could transform any boring outfit, making it cute and fun. This pom pom cardigan is the perfect piece, wouldn't you agree?

Have you experienced something similar when taking travel recommendations?

The next trend that we're styling and having fun with is the "Waist Belts" one. They are back in style ready to cinch you in, offering a bit of structure, style and pop to your outfit, not to mention their functionality. You can opt for leather, pleather or soft fabric belts, depending on your needs and wanted effect. They can be a statement piece to an otherwise simple look or they can help you transform a vest into a dress, like I opted for. This is one of the easiest and fuss free trends, since you can also add it to your coat and be done with it.

As mentioned, I chose to use it transform a vest into a dress, though don't worry, I was wearing shorts underneath. It also helped define my shape, since the vest has a straight cut. I went for a girly structured style, but I can imagine it with feminine ruffly pieces of edgier ones, looking just as good.

Will you be dabbling in this trend this fall?

I've been living in Milan for almost a year and never visited the San Lorenzo columns, though without realizing, I've been within a few meters more than once. That needed to change and today we're enjoying this charming ancient location. The Roman columns are quite a sight, one that transport you back in time and as you can see, they make for the perfect backdrop.

My outfit combines stripes on stripes. Mixing patterns is fun and makes a statement, however it can be scary or challenging to know where to start. The safer option would be styling stripes with well, stripes. In my case I incorporated vertical lines on both the top and bottom part. Fun fact, they create the illusion of slenderness. The bell sleeves offer a feminine touch, while the sneakers add comfort.

What's your favorite print mix?

My mum was visiting over the weekend, which meant strolling trough Milan for hours and taking pictures in all my favorite places. I only shot one outfit, because it was nicer to enjoy her company and talk. I know you understand and don't mind. I did however post a tone of InstaStories, so you can follow me there if you would like to. There was a lot of walking involved, 11km per day to be precise, so my outfit selection needed to be comfy, but still cute.

Since showing you this bell sleeved open back shirt, I wanted to wear it and this was the perfect occasion. The blouse is trendy and adorable, yet easy to wear. The white and blue striped matched perfectly with my white Nike sneakers and sunglasses, while the scarf combined blue elements from the shirt with the black jeans, tying it all together. The Louis Vuitton bag adds a feminine touch with its muted color and cute design.

How was your weekend?
