Work Outfit for Fashionistas

Dressing up for work can get quite repetitive and boring, especially when you don't plan ahead. Now, I'm the kind of person who rarely gets her outfit ready the night before, however it's something I want to work on this year. When I do think my outfits ahead they're always more creative and fun, not to mention I feel happier when my outfit is stylish, as shallow as that my seem.  The clothes we wear are a way of expressing ourselves, so naturally one would feel more fulfilled when their outfit is a reflexion of that. Instead of seeing work as a constrictive fashion place, it can become an opportunity to express and experiment with your style. Obviously it depends how permissive your work environment is, so always be respectful of the guidelines provided by your employer.

As a fashion lover and addict you need to find a balance between a professional wardrobe and a stylish one. Ideally everyone needs to find their perfect equilibrium to their own unique work wardrobe, be it sophisticated or smart or casual yet polished. No matter what your style is or office situation, an essential is a midi fitted dress. If a smart look is required at work then you most definitely have at least one smart black midi dress, but even if your work environment is more laid back you could benefit of this classic piece for external meetings or events. Long has gone the era of boring classic pieces. Nowadays we have ruffles, flute sleeves, prints and patterns to delight us from 9 to 5. So far I haven't been brave enough to put together a prints or patterns look, however this will soon change.

Let's keep in mind we're still in the winter time, so a few adjustments are needed to make a sleeveless dress work. My favorite discovery of this winter are thermal tights, really. I always wondered how so many women could wear dresses while I was freezing with pants on, but obviously they had a secret weapon up their sleeve. Another trick I like, as you see in this post, is to layer a stylish blouse underneath the dress. Not only does it add a fashionable factor, but also warmth. If that's still not enough, I would also add a thermal cami underneath and that should really keep me toasty.

This is the kind of look I would wear at an event. You might think I've gone crazy for ruffles and flute sleeves, but the ruffles of the flute sleeves compliment nicely the ruffles of the dress. As you can see the beaded mesh shoulder panels of the sleeves offer even more dimension to the outfit. From afar it might seem like a simple look, but all the details make it memorable. Of course I paired the look with my Casadei pumps, the blade heels just never fail to impress anyone, and my precious Tiffany necklace.

Soon I'll share also some more relaxed workwear, which is my preference on the daily in the winter time. What is your go-to office attire in the winter time?

Have a pink-tastic day!
Kisses
