In Nature

From a young age my parents always took me on hikes in the forest and they tried to make this a regular thing for both my sister and I. We would go on hour long hikes in the woods and always went up to the mountains, I remember we did it weekly during a period of time. As I grew and went through adolescence it didn't interest me and I starting refusing to go on hikes preferring to stay in the city. A couple of years ago something changed and a sudden wish "boiled" in me, one of wanting to get in touch with nature again. How funny, strange and ironic is that? After refusing to hike for a good decade I now was searching for an opportunity. When I told my mum she started laughing, rightfully so.

As we were planning our Vancouver trip I discovered the Capilano Suspension Bridge Park and honestly it just looked like a fantastic scenery for pictures. When I got there however it all clicked. I felt like a child connecting with nature and the pictures weren't the only thing on my mind anymore.  Of course I still took 100 pictures, let's keep it real, but there was more. The air was so clean it felt hard to breath at times, but it was so serene and relaxing. If possible I would visit yearly, being in nature helps improve concentration, creativity, it's good against stress and there are so many more benefits. Needless to say how much I recommend this experience to everyone.

Do you like going on hikes?

Have a pink-tastic day!

  3. Wow the images you captured are great. I have only hiked a couple of times in life but i would not consider myself a hiker. I know I couldn't do the suspension bridge though because of my fear of heights and super high bridges.
