It's hard to love yourself and be confident when you're constantly wishing to change something about yourself. I've gone through periods where I'm super confident, but it's challenging to always fluctuate, especially when you're the kind of person that overanalyzes everything.
I've postponed creating a blog and a Youtube channel because of what others might think, how they might criticize me or laugh at me. I was worried if anyone would read and watch. Sometimes these feelings still come up. Rather than pushing them down, I acknowledge them and try to solve the deeper problem, which is my confidence.
There are a few things that have helped over the years and that are still helping me to this day. Hopefully when you're having a bad day you can realize you also have all of these in your life, or at least some.
Have a pink-tastic day!
Kisses
Amazing family
My parents and sister have always supported me and boosted my confidence. When I wanted to study design my father was my biggest supporter, telling me not only that I could do it, but encouraging me I would become the best. My sister cheers me up every time I feel down about my blog or anything else. My mother, well, she has been the biggest supporter since day one. She imparts wisdom everyday and I adore her.
My boyfriend
He might not always say it clearly, but he has always lifted me up and encouraged me. He shows interest in my work and blog, well, life in general. Not to mention, he gives me cuddles and cooks for me all the time. Thanks to him I've grown a lot and I like to always let him know how much I appreciate him.
Good friends
They have sustained me through all my dreams, even when I've been too scared to try. Sometimes they believe in me more than I do, which is a wonderful feeling. It fills you up with joy to know a group of people, which you chose to trust with your dreams, have faith that you can accomplish them.
Myself
Overtime I've learned to trust my mind and body more, to stand taller and be more confident. Like I said, confidence comes from within, but having wonderful people in your life helps a lot. My blog and Youtube channel have also been a huge confidence boosts, they took me out of my comfort zone and taught me to be more self-asssuring. Reading positive and self love books can also be of service. I'm still working on it, but every day is progress.

I totally understand you!! I don't always feel comfortable about myself... although I've grown up so much in the last years, specially during and after my masters I took three years ago.
ReplyDeleteFor a very long time I didn't want to share with my friends or my peers that I had a blog, that I had an instagram where I basically upload pictures of myself and related to the blog... during the masters my german girlfriends were so surprised that I had a blog!! They were like: Oh my god, why you didn't tell us that! It's great!!
That was one of the best moments of my blog.
So from there on, I started believing more in me and telling other people what I was doing and why I was doing it, instead of hiding it.
Anyways, great post Carina!
Hope you have an amazing sunday!
xx

Beautiful pictures! You're so right, sometimes doubt comes from a lack of confidence and addressing the issue is so much better than just pushing it away. I'm glad you've got such a strong support system, the people we surround ourselves with are very important :)
