Taj Mahal, a love story

You can't travel to India without planing to visit the famous Taj Mahal, so here we are. It's been over a year since this amazing trip and I'm finally sharing pictures from it. I was fascinated with the Taj Mahal's story. Of course, we all know it's India's most famous monument and on everyone's bucket list. The Taj was built by emperor Shah Jahan as a dedication to his wifey Mumtaz Mahal, who died during childbirth. It's made of white marble and was decorated with crystals, lapis and turquoise. The monument is a gesture of love but also symbolizes power through its scale, symmetry and lavishness. There is a theory that a second black marble Taj Mahal was meant to be built for emperor Shah, but constructions stoped after he was imprisoned by his son. The Taj Mahal is a UNESCO world heritage and one of the 7 new wonders of the world. Truly breathtaking to see. The day we visited was quite foggy and cold, yet nothing could take away from its beauty. After our visit we went for lunch and drinks at the famous and luxurious Oberoi. Pictures don't do the Taj Mahal and Oberoi justice, but I hope you enjoy them.

Have a pink-tastic day!
Kisses
