Slip dresses have made a strong comeback, but it took me a while to get on board. Not only because of the sleepwear feel, but also because slip dresses aren't very forgiving. What do I mean by that? Well, they will embrace your body and show everything, good or bad. For example, a skater dress hides the belly and chinches the waist or a dress with ruffles on the top part creates the optical illusion of a larger chest area and the list goes on.
However, when I first tried a slip dress, something shifted in my perspective, I felt confident and loved how it flowed and "hugged" my body. Yes, it shows me as I am, but why would that be bad?! It's not like usually I'm hiding my body. In the future I'll try different styles with the slip dress.
Slip dresses are delicate and elegant, so to add an edgy touch, I paired it with a leather jacket, boots and choker. I layered a delicate necklace with the choker, creating more contrast between the feminine and edgy elements.
What do you think about slip dresses? Have you tried one?
