The Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Concentrate is a cult favorite among fashion bloggers, but is it really worth the hype and price? During today's #JoyfulJune post, I want to write my thoughts on the product after using it for half year. On Thursday I will share my thoughts on the Daily Reviving Concentrate, so stay tuned for that.
In order to offer the best review I wanted to test it out for a long period of time through different seasons. I started using it in winter when my skin was quite dry and sometimes flaky. In spring my skin transitioned to a more normal phase ending in June, when my skin begins to get combination oily. Now, that you have a quick background of my skin, scroll down for the review.
Have a pink-tastic day!
Kisses
Product Description:
The Midnight Recovery Concentrate is a night time oil that restores the appearance of skin. It replenishes the skin, making it smoother and healthier. The concentrate's main ingredients are evening primrose, lavender essentials oil and squalane. The evening primrose oil repairs the skin barrier and helps boots radiance. Lavender Essential Oil soothes inflamed and irritated skin, while evening out and brightening the skin. Squalane is a signature ingredient for Kiehl's, a botanical lipid that helps restore skin moisture keeping it supple.
My Experience:
I hadn't swatched the concentrate in store, so I was quite surprised by the oil texture. Somehow I imagined it being a serum texture, but that didn't bother me since I like using raw coconut oil as moisturizer. It just takes a few uses to understand how much is the perfect amount for your face surface, two drops for me.
The blue packaging feels a bit old school pharmaceutical with a dropper, but the glass container feels nice and special. Also it looks great in my beauty stash, though that shouldn't be the deciding factor. It's very easy to use and hygienic thanks to the dropper.
Some of the super hyped up products have disappointed me in the past, so I tried not to get overly exited the first time using it. Waking up the next day and seeing my face calmed down and radiant, made me jump around with joy. My skin felt smooth and not at all irritated. I was concerned the results might not hold up for long, however after so many months of use, it continues to impress me.
Also, I haven't had any under the skin blemishes in months, something I struggled with and hoped to correct. Additionally it helps heal dark spots. The oil is easily absorbed into the skin and offers the perfect amount of hydration. It really is an impressive concentrate to which I'm addicted.
Price:
Now, it's on the pricier side, but it's not too excessive. I purchased the 30 ml which retails for 43 €. Considering I have been using it nightly for half a year and it's only half way gone, I would go as far as saying you could see it as affordable.
Overall, I would highly recommend this product. If you have tried it, please let us all know how you got along with it.
I use this product and it works great!

I have heard a lot good things about this concentrate but never tried it. It's quite pricey but it's good to hear that it lasts for long.

I really wanted to love this but it didn't really work for me all that well, I think for me I just need to get used to putting oils on my skin because I tend to just associated oils with breaking out?
