This was a very exciting lookbook to film and my first Holiday one. I wanted it to be glam and put together. Even though most of us can't celebrate Christmas the way we're used to, we can at least get ready and enjoy wearing a beautiful look. After sharing my Sicily lookbook last week and dreaming about summer for probably the whole time, I wanted to share also these pictures taken there. A different perspective than you might expect. Rather than being around the gorgeous blue water I'm surrounded by a field of cacti, a true surprise to myself when I saw it next to a lovely restaurant. It had a cozy vibe, a bit deserted but very enjoyable. Would you have expected this landscape in Sicily?

I've visited the charming city of Lisbon 9 years ago and fell in love. It's vibrant, full of wonderful people and the food, can we talk about the food?! so appetizing. Visit the picturesque Alfama neighborhood and the charming Belem one, head over to Cabo da Roca for breathtaking views and visit the beaches. Highly recommend taking a boat trip and finding a nice spot to see the city from a high point - especially at night. Have you visited Lisbon?

Being happy and at peace with yourself is always easier when you're surrounded by loving people or are in a dream location, even better when you can have both at the same time. Being away from the negativity in a slightly isolated place like a resort can be very therapeutic and healthy, especially if you're the type of person that easily stresses out. Over the years, I have always shared that my happy place is by the water. The waves and sea salt in the air calm me and fill me up with positive thoughts.
I fell in love with this rather sexy bathing suit since the first time it appeared on Asos and kept looking for it until my size appeared. It's quite simple, but the cut of it is amazingly flattering and I adore how it fits. What do you think?

Orange is an energetic color, it's playful and exotic. However, this jovial color has never attracted me. I don't find it looks good on me, nor do I own any other orange clothing items except this one. It was a gift from my boyfriend, a long time ago. The dress is very easy to wear and I enjoy the cut of it, which is why I bust it out every summer. Even though orange isn't my color, looking at it against the blue of the sea, made me fall in love with it. If I would have to choose one favorite photoshoot from holidays, this would easily win. It's all thanks to the colors of the outfit and landscape combining and contrasting each other perfectly.

It's hard to love yourself and be confident when you're constantly wishing to change something about yourself. I've gone through periods where I'm super confident, but it's challenging to always fluctuate, especially when you're the kind of person that overanalyzes everything.
I've postponed creating a blog and a Youtube channel because of what others might think, how they might criticize me or laugh at me. I was worried if anyone would read and watch. Sometimes these feelings still come up. Rather than pushing them down, I acknowledge them and try to solve the deeper problem, which is my confidence.
There are a few things that have helped over the years and that are still helping me to this day. Hopefully when you're having a bad day you can realize you also have all of these in your life, or at least some.

When visiting one of the most beautiful islands, experiencing the sunrise and sunset on the beach is a must. The golden light caresses your skin and hair, making you look like a Goddess and the scenery is breathtaking. The sun reflecting in the water while it's going down, takes your breath away, making you wonder how such a beauty is possible. The fresh water strokes your feet as you walk through the sand and the salty smell in air awakens a strong wish to be a mermaid enjoying the beauty of the sea every day.
What outfit is better fit for a mermaid than a high low mint green dress? The train floats as the wind blows and hugs your body in all the right places. The flowing fit makes you feel free and cheerful. The mellow sun shine also hit my highlighter making me, again, look like a Goddess.

Have you ever noticed how consciously or unconsciously all of us fashion lovers always wear a striped outfit on vacation? Stripes embody summer fashion and the beach. When I think of stripes two inspirations come in mind: either sea vibes or Parisian ones, which is why I will always wear such an outfit for the two. That doesn't mean I only wear stripes on vacation and in Paris, it's just the mind frame it gets me in. The stripes trend makes a comeback every spring and summer, be it in the classic nautical colors or 70s inspired ones. They are versatile and add something extra to an outfit.
Ruffles have also made a comeback. They've been around since the 16th century flattering our silhouettes and romanticizing any look. I've been a fan for years now, even before they became a trend and they look especially chic in an off shoulder silhouette and in a striped pattern. While my outfit may seem simplistic, it's very well thought and incorporates all these spectacular elements I adore.

Is a technological disconnection even possible nowadays? We're surrounded and always on either our phones, tablets or laptops, be it for work or for our personal life. Disconnecting can sound impossible or harsh for someone like me, who literally spends the whole day on her laptop and phone for work and blogging. Digital marketing would be kind of hard without the digital part ahahah. This is why I wanted to share a few tips for disconnecting, "read more" for all the tips.

Don't be fooled by my shoe option into thinking this wasn't the most relaxing outfit. The shoes might seem high and scary, but because they are a platformed sandals, they are easy to walk in. Last year I even walked on rocks with them and not only did I survive, but I also took some cute pictures. I will go to incredible lengths for the cutest picture ahaha. This adorable dress was perfect for my summer vacation. I had mentioned in my Siena post that it was a bit sheer, but at the sea side that doesn't really matter to me. It's flowing and ruffly, has giant bell sleeves that are super fun to wear, though not so fun during dinner. For a pop of color, I added my teal clutch and I was ready for dinner. Since the dress is loose fitted, it also hid my food baby so yay for that.

This outfit shoot didn't exactly go as planned, but there was a lesson to be learned from it. I had wanted to shoot on the beach in a special place that was sadly closed on that afternoon. As a result I was quite grumpy, being full of sand and without the outfit pictures. I almost didn't take them elsewhere, however my boyfriend made me realize how silly it all was.
On a tropical island the best background, except of the sea, are the palm trees. In my grumpiness I looked around for the less populated palm tree area and shoot my pictures, which ended up lovely. Just shows that you should never let something silly bring you down or flood you with negativity. Needless to say, the next day I was even able to shoot in that special place.
The unpredictable will always happen, even if you plan everything to the smallest detail. It's up to you how you react and how you let it affect you. Basically, when life gives you lemons make lemonade or drink tequila, ahaha, whatever floats your boat.

For the past week I've been on vacation in Paradise aka the Dominican Republic, enjoying the sun and disconnecting a bit. Before leaving I scheduled the posts for the past week and left my laptop at home. The internet over there was horrible, but I did manage to post a few pictures and stories on my Instagram, which you can check out here. It was quite relaxing to leave my laptop behind, but I did shoot a ton of outfit pictures which you'll be seeing on the blog for the next weeks.
Now, I've wanted to find a charming wings street art for years and when I finally found this one on vacation, I was over the moon excited. Luckily, without knowing about the wall, I had packed the perfect outfit for it, that features my new skirt from my Asos Haul. This skirt is a dream, so fun and easy to wear. You'll notice with all of my vacation outfits, that they are very feminine yet simple and comfortable.
Also tomorrow is my birthday, I'll be 26. I have some mixed feelings about that, but we'll talk more about it tomorrow.

Yay for internet, finally! You really don't realise how dependent we are on internet until you remain without it for a few weeks. Except the lack of networking, it wasn't too bad. Went outside more, ahahah, but that could also be because I love strolling and exploring the cities I live in. Now, to the outfit:
Today is all about that pop of red we all love, in this case both on my lips and shorts. Red is such a sexy and flirty colour, which I often like to wear, especially on my lips. It's just a "girlboss" colour, that looks good all the time. I'm not the kind of woman to wear bold lipstick only at night, as I'm sure you saw by now on the blog. If I like it, I'll wear it to work, to the market or anywhere I need to be. It's all about the attitude, so if you feel empowered wearing a bold lipstick, be it red, purple, blue or black, it doesn't really matter what others think on the street, now does it?!
This time I paired the red shorts with a structured blouse, which is cropped and loose. It has black floral appliqués on the collar and a black stripe down the middle. Though very minimalist in design, the blouse has beautiful details, which is why I plan to style it more in the future. To go with the black and white theme, I added my zebra loafers. Of course, you don't have to match your bag with shoes and with your blouse, it's just that sometimes it's fun to be matchy matchy.

Sicily has been wonderful, enchanting me with its turquoise crystal clear water and satisfying my hunger with its fresh fish and pastries. I'll miss the rays of sun caressing my skin and the fresh sea salt taste in the air.
My goodbye look is simple and appropriate for the hot weather, nothing groundbreaking, just off shoulder top with shorts. Similar to my last outfit, I took these pictures before sunset, which meant enjoying the golden light.

We have finally come to the moment where I'm sharing my favourite look from this Sicilian vacation, well you know except this one. It's possible you'll remember this dress from my birthday wish list post. My sister kindly gifted it to me and I absolutely love it. It's fun, easy and flowing, but most importantly off shoulder, so of course it had to come on holidays with me. What I also love about it, is that it's comfy but stylish.
We shot the pictures are sunset, which gave this soft light and romantic vibe. What do you think about the look?
