Welcome to the first outfit post of the year. I wanted the first one to be special, to set the tone for the year and what's to come. A similar goal to last year's is to have more fun with my looks, to wear fabulous outfits on a day to day basis, just put a bit more effort into my style. This is something I struggle with during the colder months because my only wish is to snuggle in the coziest sweaters and be warm. In order to achieve my goal I will mindfully shop for statement pieces that are both weather appropriate or can be layered and suit me. It is very important to feel good in the clothes you wear, that's why another goal for this year is to only buy/keep pieces that I find look amazing on me. There is no need to have a wardrobe full of pieces that don't suit me, look bad or simply aren't my style, but I'll discuss my goals more in a future post, now back to the outfit.
My love for statement shoulders and statement sleeves keeps on growing. Something as effortless as a statement shoulder gives an empowering vibe. The padded shoulder first became popular in the 1930 and has systematically come back into fashion in the 40's, 50's, 70's, 80's when they had a huge boom and then again in the 90's. There must be a reason why this trend keeps on making a comeback and that's because it's flattering and chic. I paired this padded statement shoulder bodysuit with high waisted palazzo pants, the all black look inspires elegance. The holidays might be over, but that doesn't mean we should stop being glamorous.

Hi, my name is Carina and I'm a total lipstick junkie, which is why today I decided to share with you my top 5 lipsticks for Valentine's day. I will probably just wear a BB cream, mascara and a lipstick, which is my usual "routine". You know how some people change their outfits throughout the day? How crazy would it be to change your lipstick during the date. An innocent pink for entree, a nude for main and a bold flirty red lip for dessert. That would be so funny and your date would probably think you're a weirdo, so maybe don't try it out. Back to the point of this post.
Though I love red for this occasion and most days to be honest, I wanted to incorporate some nude shades for all of you who don't enjoy a bold lip as much as I do. In my selection I included a gloss, two satin shade and two matte shades. The matte shades are also non transferable, you know in case you want to kiss your boy/girl. I also wanted to include both affordable and luxury lipsticks, to offer a wider selection.
From left to right we have: Dior Addict Gloss in Nr. 256 , NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Tokyo, YSL Rouge Volupte in Nr. 1, Sephora Lip Stain in Watermelon Slice and Chanel in Nr. 104. My current favourite is the Sephora Lip Stain in Watermelon Slice, which I recently purchased after falling in love with Mandarin Muse from the same range. I did a simple make-up look, using a classic combination and decided to share it with you. Eyeliner and red lipstick go perfectly together, as most actresses have taught us during the years. It's really easy to achieve and requires very few products, you just have to practice your liner, which I still struggle with. Lately, I have been obsessed with matte lipsticks so you'll see that a lot on the blog this month.

I have to admit my obsession for red lipstick. Some of you might think that having five red lipsticks isn't a lot and others my think it's kind of unnecessary. Truthfully it is unnecessary to have five different shades of red lipsticks and I was happy even when I had just two. For me red lipsticks inspires elegance and looking sexy, being bold but classy, if that makes any sense.
Some of the shades may look alike, but they are all a little bit different. The NYX one is the softest and easiest to pull off anytime. MAC Morange and YSL Nr. 13 look more similar in picture than they are in real life. The YSL one is more red toned, while the MAC one is more orange toned and warmer. For me the YSL shade is a year round lipstick, while the MAC one I tend to use more during spring and summer, do to the orange tones in it. MAC Red and Chanel Nr. 104 look almost identical in the photograph, but there is a difference. MAC Red is cooler toned, more of a berry red lipstick and the Chanel one is a shade warmer. They are similar, but unique at the same time. My favourites at the moment are the Chanel and the YSL one. Which is your favourite red lipstick?

Yesterday there was a football match between Red Bull Salzburg and SCR Altach, in which Red Bull Salzburg won with 5-0. Luckily I got to go to the game. It was a lot of fun and my first time to a football match, so I wanted to share some pictures.
I also wanted to share my favourite hair do of the summer. Sadly the picture has a really poor quality, which I don't like, but shows you the style nonetheless. I got a lot of compliments on it, so it's a keeper in my book. Hope you all had an amazing weekend.

My inspiration for todays outfit was a silk scarf that I own, which is kind of short, so I don't like wearing it wrapped around my neck like a stewardess. Wanting to wear it in some way, I decided to make a braid and incorporate it in my hairstyle. A little bit more creative, but not unheard of. Seeing it like this gave me a resort/marine vibe, so I decided to wear it with some pastel baby blue jeans and a white T-shirt. I just had to run some errands, so there was no need to dress up. Nonetheless I'll show you a few pictures, even thou todays outfit is so simple and boring.

Here is another outfit post from my get-away. I am really lucky to be able to travel as much as I do and am so grateful for it. As I have mentioned so many times before, traveling is one of my passions and something that I believe enriches you more the material items. I will continue to take every opportunity to travel as often as I can and even though this isn't a traveling blog I hope you enjoy the new sights from time to time.
Back to the outfit : I choose a plaid shirt in cool green and blue tones, with shoulder cut-outs that give the outfit a little bit of "va va voom". Honestly, since I bought my white converse I've been wearing them so much, they were my most loved shoes in the month of April. To finish the outfit I went for a pink lipstick and a big smile on my face.

As you already know, I love make-up and beauty products. Today I want to share with you an overview of my Lipsticks and Lip-glosses. I wouldn't call it a "collection", since I don't own that many in comparison to other beauty bloggers. However I am also not trying to build a huge collection. If there is a colour I like and want, then I will buy it. But I think I'm good for now. I have most if not all the colours that I want, so it's pretty hard to find something that will make me go Yes! I must have this one no matter what.
I have so many lipsticks, because out of all the beauty products lipstick and mascara are the most important for me. I believe I can rock a bold lip on it's own and it gives the illusion that I spent a lot of time on my make-up, even though I didn't.

I had planed to do Beauty Goodies posts on Wednesdays, but since today was a lazy day for me I didn't get to do anything special, so I didn't take any outfit of the day pictures.
So I will do my Beauty post today and the next two days outfit posts. *yeey*
For the Beauty Goodies posts I will be doing Hauls, Make-up of the day and reviews.
I have another mini haul for you! I bought another YSL Lipstick in Nr. 7 this time, an Illamasqua blush and a mascara. The lipstick I had been eyeing for about 3-4 months now, so it was time to get it. The Illamasqua blush and products have been raved about a lot in the last period, in the beauty blog sphere, so I finally caved and got one. I will do a review on this product next Wednesday, but I have to say I am impressed.
The mascara is self explanatory, but I have heard a lot of good stuff about this one. It was a new product from Maybelline for this year, starting spring.
