Traveling overseas can take a toll on your body no matter how well prepared you are, especially when you end up having 8 hours time difference from your original time zone. Jet lag happens when your usual sleep pattern is disturbed after a long flight and it can take your body between 3 to 5 days to recover. It is said jet lag is better when flying west and worst when flying east, because our bodies function better on a longer day rather than a shorter one. I've never experienced proper jet lag honestly, I just get tired. However I've found 5 tips that really help me and hopefully they will help you as well. Keep reading.

Hello beautiful people! Who's excited for Friday? You know I am!

Today I'm sharing another look from Milan, it's a check on check outfit. I shared in the past my wish to mix patterns and I thought it would be fun to start with a check on check one. As you can see the coat is checked with a petrol thread through it, which adds an interesting feature to the look. While the checks are more subtle in the coat it still looks chic with the pink checked pants. The pants are a bolder pattern being pink and also featuring a bigger pattern. The weather was rainy and a bit cold so I added a baby pink turtleneck jumper for warmth, but also because I wanted an almost whole pink outfit. The green of the heeled ankle boots compliments well the coat and the whole look.

Here are a few tips for mixing prints and patterns:
1. Choose a main print/pattern as the focus of the look making the second one an accent. This will help keep the outfit visually appealing and it won't feel overwhelming.

2. Play with the scale of the prints to add dimension and an interesting touch to the look.

3. When using the same print, mix up the colors while choosing shades that compliment each other. Going for the same pattern creates a chic cool look. If you don't wanna go for a suit vibe with the same print all over choose colors that style well together, which is easy on the eyes and fashionable.

As children being creative is a second nature. It almost feels like you could never loose your imagination. At the same time it's hard to understand how adults stop seeing beauty in everything and how they lack the imagination to see wonders at every step. Growing up means you start thinking about different situation logically and "realistically", problems bring you down and negativity has a huge toll on us. While we do need to face the real world, we can still express our creativity and most of all we should still nurture it. Here are a few tips how you can do that.

1. Try a new creative activity like painting, singing, playing an instrument or acting. Look it up on the internet or sign up for classes, just try something new. It might inspire you and get you in that creative mood. Simply immerse yourself in the artistic process.

2. Try to look at everyday situations from a different perspective. Why not take an ordinary situation and put yourself in some else's shoes, maybe someone you aspire to? It could help you get in a different frame of mind.

3. A lot of people believe meditation helps trigger your imagination. Getting in touch with all your senses should help with creativity, but most importantly embrace your inner child. Remember how carefree you used to be, that will help you relax.

A lot of times we block our creativity out of fear, fear of what others might think and how they will judge us. We should stop letting fear dictate our life and just express our creativity.

How do you keep your imagination alive?

Dressing up for work can get quite repetitive and boring, especially when you don't plan ahead. Now, I'm the kind of person who rarely gets her outfit ready the night before, however it's something I want to work on this year. When I do think my outfits ahead they're always more creative and fun, not to mention I feel happier when my outfit is stylish, as shallow as that my seem.  The clothes we wear are a way of expressing ourselves, so naturally one would feel more fulfilled when their outfit is a reflexion of that. Instead of seeing work as a constrictive fashion place, it can become an opportunity to express and experiment with your style. Obviously it depends how permissive your work environment is, so always be respectful of the guidelines provided by your employer.

As a fashion lover and addict you need to find a balance between a professional wardrobe and a stylish one. Ideally everyone needs to find their perfect equilibrium to their own unique work wardrobe, be it sophisticated or smart or casual yet polished. No matter what your style is or office situation, an essential is a midi fitted dress. If a smart look is required at work then you most definitely have at least one smart black midi dress, but even if your work environment is more laid back you could benefit of this classic piece for external meetings or events. Long has gone the era of boring classic pieces. Nowadays we have ruffles, flute sleeves, prints and patterns to delight us from 9 to 5. So far I haven't been brave enough to put together a prints or patterns look, however this will soon change.

Let's keep in mind we're still in the winter time, so a few adjustments are needed to make a sleeveless dress work. My favorite discovery of this winter are thermal tights, really. I always wondered how so many women could wear dresses while I was freezing with pants on, but obviously they had a secret weapon up their sleeve. Another trick I like, as you see in this post, is to layer a stylish blouse underneath the dress. Not only does it add a fashionable factor, but also warmth. If that's still not enough, I would also add a thermal cami underneath and that should really keep me toasty.

This is the kind of look I would wear at an event. You might think I've gone crazy for ruffles and flute sleeves, but the ruffles of the flute sleeves compliment nicely the ruffles of the dress. As you can see the beaded mesh shoulder panels of the sleeves offer even more dimension to the outfit. From afar it might seem like a simple look, but all the details make it memorable. Of course I paired the look with my Casadei pumps, the blade heels just never fail to impress anyone, and my precious Tiffany necklace.

Soon I'll share also some more relaxed workwear, which is my preference on the daily in the winter time. What is your go-to office attire in the winter time?

Welcome to the first outfit post of the year. I wanted the first one to be special, to set the tone for the year and what's to come. A similar goal to last year's is to have more fun with my looks, to wear fabulous outfits on a day to day basis, just put a bit more effort into my style. This is something I struggle with during the colder months because my only wish is to snuggle in the coziest sweaters and be warm. In order to achieve my goal I will mindfully shop for statement pieces that are both weather appropriate or can be layered and suit me. It is very important to feel good in the clothes you wear, that's why another goal for this year is to only buy/keep pieces that I find look amazing on me. There is no need to have a wardrobe full of pieces that don't suit me, look bad or simply aren't my style, but I'll discuss my goals more in a future post, now back to the outfit.

My love for statement shoulders and statement sleeves keeps on growing. Something as effortless as a statement shoulder gives an empowering vibe. The padded shoulder first became popular in the 1930 and has systematically come back into fashion in the 40's, 50's, 70's, 80's when they had a huge boom and then again in the 90's. There must be a reason why this trend keeps on making a comeback and that's because it's flattering and chic. I paired this padded statement shoulder bodysuit with high waisted palazzo pants, the all black look inspires elegance. The holidays might be over, but that doesn't mean we should stop being glamorous.

Do you love the statement shoulder?

The weather in England might be gray and cold, but I don't want it to influence my style to the point that I look like a fluff ball daily, so I made a note of buying a pair of extra warm tights. This has allowed me to wear dresses in fall, be it jumper dresses or normal ones with warm jumpers on top. I would call that a win over autumn. My favorite part of this outfit is how the luscious blue satin pops against the dark grays and black. We've already approached satin as a fall trend, but I still adore the look of it.

Are you still in love with the satin trend?

At the beginning of the month I professed my love for jumper dresses and now, almost at the end of the month I'm still loving them. This one is a figure hugging jumper dress with a bit of a sexy vibe, but still perfect for everyday wear. It just sits right on the body and makes you feel good, something that is hard to achieve. Seeing the colder weather, I would highly suggest wearing tights and boots with it, to keep warm and stylish.

Are you going crazy over jumper dresses?

My love for dressy shirts started in Uni, when I begun elevating my day to day style. I started buying blouses in all the colors of the rainbow, until I realized there was one shade missing: white. So I started obsessing over white dressy shirts, to the point that I now have 9 of them. They're just so easy to wear and elevate any outfit. Today I styled the latest addition to the collection and I'll also share with you 5 reasons why you should add a statement white shirt to your collection. Curious? Keep scrolling.

We all know red is having a bit of a moment, we talked about it a while back, but wearing head to toe red isn't everyones cup of tea. Today I wanted to style a preppy look with a pop of red. The easiest and most delicate way to incorporate red is with a scarf and/or lipstick. I added both because they compliment each other nicely and well, because I adore wearing red lipstick. There's just something about it that feels empowering.

Choosing which trends to rock each new season is very important, they need to suit your style and personality otherwise it will look unnatural and you won't feel the best in it, nobody wants that. I have declared my love for red since the beginning of the blog, so the fact that it became a trend this season is perfect. Don't you just love it when the styles you've adored for so long become the "it" trend of the moment?! I do!

In 2013 we had this little number, incorporating my awesome mouse flats, which I still adore even if they stopped being all the craze! My love for red continued in 2014 when red lips and bags were my evening out must-haves. The perfect way to spruce up a simple outfit is by adding a statement piece, in this case it's a flaming red hat as 2015 me has demonstrated. Finally we've come to 2016 still incorporating red in to my outfits, this time via a pair of shorts. This post wasn't meant to become a throwback of my love for red, but here you have the proof that I have been obsessed with red and rocking it since forever. It's not just a trend for me. Red is the color of confidence, boldness, determination, passion and love! Also, I do realize no one asked for proof that I've been loving red for so long, but sharing is caring. *laughs*

Back to today's outfit, like previously mentioned, I went for a preppy style. The jeans tucked in the pointy boots elongate my legs making me seem 5'9, which sadly I'm not. It's the perfect everyday look, put-together with a bit of heels yet comfy and warm with a pop of personality.

Do you have a long affair with red?

You know how sometimes you put together an outfit and then look at the pictures patting yourself on the back for doing a good job? Well, that's how I feel about this one. I had it in my mind planed for months, just waiting for the London Fashion Week Festival to come so I could finally wear it. Of course there were some concerns, like are the colors too muted, but that was fixed by the coat which added a pop of contrast. It was a very chic layering and styling, if I may say so myself.

The dress you will remember from this post, where, again, I wore as a skirt. The heart of my blog is all about reusing and repurposing all of the pieces you have in your wardrobe, which is why I restyled this piece, as I do with many others. Sometimes with so many bloggers, influencers and celebrities always wearing clothing items just once, it may seem normal, but it's not. If you have pieces that you love, you should re-wear them till they fall apart. Also, don't feel bad for wearing the exact same outfit more than once, it's normal. Everyone does it all the time. Don't put pressure on yourself thinking you always have to wear an original look, just be yourself and get the most out of the pieces in your wardrobe.

As you can see, the dress is quite elegant, so in order to tone it down, I added a cropped jumper with bell sleeves. The jumper added warmth and more texture to the outfit. For an extra edge, I styled the dress with over the knee boots instead of elegant pumps. Adding a jumper and OTK boots cuts from the elegance and allows you to wear your fancy dresses more often, which is a win in my books. For some contrast I added the checked coat. Checked coats and clothing in general are very trendy this fall winter and as we could see from different runways, including Fendi, it's going to continue rising next spring summer.

Are you a fan of checked clothing pieces?

Don't be fooled by my shoe option into thinking this wasn't the most relaxing outfit. The shoes might seem high and scary, but because they are a platformed sandals, they are easy to walk in.  Last year I even walked on rocks with them and not only did I survive, but I also took some cute pictures. I will go to incredible lengths for the cutest picture ahaha. In case you didn't see that shoot, click here.

This adorable dress was perfect for my summer vacation. I had mentioned in my Siena post that it was a bit sheer, but at the sea side that doesn't really matter to me. It's flowing and ruffly, has giant bell sleeves that are super fun to wear, though not so fun during dinner. For a pop of color, I added my teal clutch and I was ready for dinner. Since the dress is loose fitted, it also hid my food baby so yay for that.

Piazza Gae Aulenti is a charming square, named after the late Italian architect. The piazza feels almost disconnected to the rest of Milan, surrounded by the modern glass Uni Credit Tower. Both the skyscraper and piazza were designed by architect Cesar Pelli and are a sight worth seeing when visiting Milan.

Today's outfit? A white ensemble featuring lace shorts and an open back shirt. White on white always looks chic and flattering. For comfort reasons, I styled the outfit with white Converse sneakers and added a coffee colored waterfall coat.

Adding a coat, though light, felt kind of hot and unnecessary. However, it floated nicely in the wind, which made it perfect for pictures. I posted a bunch of Insta stories while wearing it. Have you seen them? If not, follow me here

I've been living in Milan for almost a year and never visited the San Lorenzo columns, though without realizing, I've been within a few meters more than once. That needed to change and today we're enjoying this charming ancient location. The Roman columns are quite a sight, one that transport you back in time and as you can see, they make for the perfect backdrop.

My outfit combines stripes on stripes. Mixing patterns is fun and makes a statement, however it can be scary or challenging to know where to start. The safer option would be styling stripes with well, stripes. In my case I incorporated vertical lines on both the top and bottom part. Fun fact, they create the illusion of slenderness. The bell sleeves offer a feminine touch, while the sneakers add comfort.

What's your favorite print mix?

Have you ever wondered how summer would look like in just one clothing piece? Just me? Well, this is what summer would look like in a dress. It has the perfect white and blue stripes, off shoulder line and ruffles, all in a light fabric. Basically, everything we want in summer: cute, light and fun, yet easy to wear.

The tittle of the post has a double meaning. Not only would this dress be a wonderful interpretation for summer, but this summer I plan to live in this dress. I will admit that my favorite part is the ruffled off shoulder line of the dress. Honestly, can't wait to style it more. Imagine how pretty it's going to look at the sea side! This time, I chose to wear it off shoulder, because it suits better my current style, however you can also wear the SheIn dress on the shoulder, like it was intended. You know, I just like to "make it my own".

With summer around the corner,  floral embroidery is dominating the street-style scene. It's feminine and gives a romantic touch to any outfit.

Take my outfit for example, I paired this romantic blouse with my leather trousers. The feminine details balance the toughness of the trousers, as do my bow mules. It's my kind of perfect balance between girly and edgy. Over the past month, you've been able to see my style transitioning into the hot weather. I've been introducing a lot more pastel colors and light fabrics. I can't wait for summer to here!

This cute SheIn blouse embodies summer vibes. It has floral embroidered details, ruffled sleeves and it's white. With summer approaching, I look forward to wearing a lot more white. Truth be told, I also adore the look of all white in winter, but don't trust myself to keep an outfit clean. Ahaha It's not like I'm a clumsy person, but with rain or snow, accidents happen. In high school I ruined my sister's favorite pair of white jeans wearing them in fall. Needless to say, she was beyond pissed.

Have you unintentionally ruined your sibling's/mother's clothing before?

You wouldn't think we're in spring from the weather in the past few days. Milan has been gloomy and like previously mentioned, a flu/cold has been going around. Happy to let you know, I'm feeling better and despite the moody weather, have finally taken new outfit pictures.

Now, the weather may be gloomy, but I'm not, so I wanted to add a pop of pastel with my chambray shirt. Since it was quite chilly outside, I layered a crochet bell sleeved blouse underneath the chambray shirt. The crochet and bell sleeves offer a summery vibe. For the lower half of the outfit, I opted for my trusty office trousers and dark green booties. Since the ankle boots are a quite dark shade, they are easy to style, even though they aren't a neutral color.

My favorite thing about this outfit is that it's elegant while having personality, but it's also quite effortless. It incorporates trends and summery elements, but it's my style. The best part? It's all styled with pieces that were already in my wardrobe. I love styling old/staple pieces in a fresh and new way.

I was in a creative mood and tried a bohemian inspired hairstyle with this look. It's a mix of french and fish style braids with waves.

What do you think?

Spring is all about pastel colors and romantic hues, but what about the girl who likes wearing all black no matter what season it is? Why should she feel less "springy", just because she doesn't enjoy pastel shades? Today's post is for all of my fashionistas who enjoy rocking an all black look all day everyday!

Except the pastel colors, the most important characteristics in a spring look are the fabrics. As soon as the weather gets warmer, everyone is wearing flowing pieces and crochets. From the pictures you see that I opted for a crochet blouse with bell sleeves. The bell sleeves aren't just trendy, they also give movement to the look and for a touch of "badass", I added a faux leather crop top underneath. The bottom half consists of a light fabric pair of culottes and fishnet stockings. As you can see I combined different trends and vibes to create a more complex look.

The crochet, flowing fabrics and bell sleeves offer the spring elements needed in this outfit, while the faux leather crop and the fishnet stockings give it character.

Let's all take a moment and do a mini dance for the weekend, but also for Milan. Today there were 25 degrees!!!, which meant wearing a dress with no tights. The warm weather brings me immense happiness, it may be silly to some people, but it brightens my day.

Of course in honor of this summery day I wore a SheIn striped dress with sleeves, because let's not get too crazy or wrapped up in this temporary warmth. As you can see it's blue and white colored, which is a classic summer combination. The bow detail in the back gives a cute look, while the loose fit offers comfort. Wearing this dress only reinforced my love and excitement for summer, but also made me wish I had a tropical vacation planed. To add a cool factor I paired the dress with my Converse sneakers and a ring choker. Though it took my a while to jump on the choker bandwagon, they are still a favorite.

Excited for the weekend?

While I may not be attending any festivals this season, a festival outfit was needed. On this happy Monday, I'm sharing my take on a festival look and what I would wear if given the chance. Not saying this would be a practical look, but it's stylish.

1. One of the most important things when attending a festival is to protect yourself from harmful sun rays, so a hat was an essential for this look.

2. My skin is quite fair, so I would easily burn under the sun all day, which is why my dress of choice covers my shoulders and a good part of my arms.

3. Of course you should also apply a high SPF no matter how fair or dark you are.

4. As you can see I added a jacket, this would come in handy as the night comes and it gets chillier. Now, the heeled boots aren't exactly practical, so if you're not comfortable with heels opt for a flat footwear.

5. Don't forget to keep hydrated!

This pretty SheIn dress has scalloped details and is made of suede, so paired with the hat and over the knee boots it creates a boho look. Festivals give me a very boho vibe, which is why I would opt for a bohemian inspired outfit.

Are you attending any festivals?

Scalloped details embody such femininity and give a romantic vibe to any outfit. When combined with the edgy harness detail, they pop even more. Almost like the two wouldn't work, but they blend excellently. Since I was going for an edgy vibe, I combined the SheIn top with faux leather pants and leather boots. The cat-eye sunglasses add a playful layer and so do the color-blocking cardigan and boots. This isn't full on color-blocking, since the colors aren't complete opposites, but they still contrast with the black.

Who's happy for the weekend?
