Bell Sleeves & Chambray Shirt Layering

You wouldn't think we're in spring from the weather in the past few days. Milan has been gloomy and like previously mentioned, a flu/cold has been going around. Happy to let you know, I'm feeling better and despite the moody weather, have finally taken new outfit pictures.

Now, the weather may be gloomy, but I'm not, so I wanted to add a pop of pastel with my chambray shirt. Since it was quite chilly outside, I layered a crochet bell sleeved blouse underneath the chambray shirt. The crochet and bell sleeves offer a summery vibe. For the lower half of the outfit, I opted for my trusty office trousers and dark green booties. Since the ankle boots are a quite dark shade, they are easy to style, even though they aren't a neutral color.

My favorite thing about this outfit is that it's elegant while having personality, but it's also quite effortless. It incorporates trends and summery elements, but it's my style. The best part? It's all styled with pieces that were already in my wardrobe. I love styling old/staple pieces in a fresh and new way.

I was in a creative mood and tried a bohemian inspired hairstyle with this look. It's a mix of french and fish style braids with waves.

What do you think?

Society imposed Perfection

What is perfection? By definition perfection would be something that is flawless, beautiful, simply excellent, but would you know what to think it's perfect if society or media didn't influence you 24/7? We all have different perceptions of "perfection", depending on our upbringings, homeland and social interactions.

At this point you might be wondering what has gotten into me? Well, you don't know this about me, but I've been passionate about lookism since I was introduced to it in Uni. I even wrote a 15 pages paper about it. Lookism is the discrimination based on someone's appearance. For anyone new here, I studied Cultural and Social Anthropology in Vienna. Another unknown fact about me, I've loved writing since I was a teenager. However on my blog, I slowly stopped writing long posts because a lot of people simply don't read, they just look at the pictures, but after all, this is my little corner of the internet and I should be able to express my opinions. Not saying they are right or wrong, just mine. Now, back to the main topic.

You will notice there are two pictures almost identical. In one the camera made the soft skin effect, while in the other it didn't. Honestly, this wasn't planed, it happened. At first glance looking at the pictures it was clear that the first one was better, so I asked myself why is that? After comparing them a bit, the answer was obvious: because one was featuring me with flawless skin, no freckles, no redness, no lines, just perfect smoothness. Not very real though. Society tells us that in order to be a beautiful woman you have to be perfect, to have flawless skin, small waist, but large chest and bum and so on.

This might sound crazy, but do you know I've disliked my freckles since forever? I've even been bullied for having them. From a young age I've used different creams that promised to rid me of them, which btw never worked. The crazy part is that people are now getting them tattooed on their faces. Even though at 25 I thought I had finally accepted my skin as it is, when confronted with the possibility of "flawless" I immediately saw that as more beautiful.

This isn't the case of someone discriminating me, it was me, which is worse. You know how they say your mind is your biggest enemy?! This isn't a dramatic post and I'm certainly not fishing for compliments. We are all different and beautiful! The important thing is for me to be happy with myself, which is something I've been working on for the longest time. We all work on this and we all have different characteristics we don't like, it's just the way we were made. The point is that the perfection the media, influencers, models are showing isn't always real.

Moral of the story: Try to be your best version, not the copy of someone else. Also, what you see in the media or on Instagram isn't always the truth.

If anyone has been wondering where I've been the past week, you could call it a forced break. Sadly, I caught a flu and had a high temperature, which meant no pictures, just rest. Hopefully I'll be back soon with outfit posts.

MAC Lipstick Collection

Welcome back my lovelies!

How is your week so far? Mine has been quite lovely! For this week's video I wanted to share my MAC lipstick collection with you. If it's a small or big collection depends on your own perception, but I think it's a nice round-up. I love lipsticks and collect them. For me they are the one make-up item I can't go out without, even without any other make-up on, I love using a lip product.

In the future I also plan on filming a liquid lipstick collection,  but was wondering if you would love to see it?

All Black Spring Look

Spring is all about pastel colors and romantic hues, but what about the girl who likes wearing all black no matter what season it is? Why should she feel less "springy", just because she doesn't enjoy pastel shades? Today's post is for all of my fashionistas who enjoy rocking an all black look all day everyday!

Except the pastel colors, the most important characteristics in a spring look are the fabrics. As soon as the weather gets warmer, everyone is wearing flowing pieces and crochets. From the pictures you see that I opted for a crochet blouse with bell sleeves. The bell sleeves aren't just trendy, they also give movement to the look and for a touch of "badass", I added a faux leather crop top underneath. The bottom half consists of a light fabric pair of culottes and fishnet stockings. As you can see I combined different trends and vibes to create a more complex look.

The crochet, flowing fabrics and bell sleeves offer the spring elements needed in this outfit, while the faux leather crop and the fishnet stockings give it character.

What do you babes think?

Sonia Rykiel Autumn/Winter 2017 Fashion Picks

Fashion month has been over for a while now, but there are still so many collections that inspire me still and I want to keep sharing them with you. This way they can also motivate you and get you energized for the week. This week it's the Sonia Rykiel collection and the first ensemble is truly my favorite. The structure, the bell sleeves, the ruffle, everything! As always I browsed the Vogue archive.

Striped Summer Dress & Converse Chic

Let's all take a moment and do a mini dance for the weekend, but also for Milan. Today there were 25 degrees!!!, which meant wearing a dress with no tights. The warm weather brings me immense happiness, it may be silly to some people, but it brightens my day.

Of course in honor of this summery day I wore a SheIn striped dress with sleeves, because let's not get too crazy or wrapped up in this temporary warmth. As you can see it's blue and white colored, which is a classic summer combination. The bow detail in the back gives a cute look, while the loose fit offers comfort. Wearing this dress only reinforced my love and excitement for summer, but also made me wish I had a tropical vacation planed. To add a cool factor I paired the dress with my Converse sneakers and a ring choker. Though it took my a while to jump on the choker bandwagon, they are still a favorite.

Excited for the weekend?

Romanian Food Taste Test with Matteo Fumagalli

Crazy hair and constant laughing sums up this video. I had so much fun filming this and you can really see my bubbly personality in this video. Matteo had never tasted Romanian food, so it was quite interesting and fun to see him react to different dishes. I love Romanian food, of course, but if you're curious to see his first reaction press play!

Boho Festival Outfit + 5 Tips

While I may not be attending any festivals this season, a festival outfit was needed. On this happy Monday, I'm sharing my take on a festival look and what I would wear if given the chance. Not saying this would be a practical look, but it's stylish.

1. One of the most important things when attending a festival is to protect yourself from harmful sun rays, so a hat was an essential for this look.

2. My skin is quite fair, so I would easily burn under the sun all day, which is why my dress of choice covers my shoulders and a good part of my arms.

3. Of course you should also apply a high SPF no matter how fair or dark you are.

4. As you can see I added a jacket, this would come in handy as the night comes and it gets chillier. Now, the heeled boots aren't exactly practical, so if you're not comfortable with heels opt for a flat footwear.

5. Don't forget to keep hydrated!

This pretty SheIn dress has scalloped details and is made of suede, so paired with the hat and over the knee boots it creates a boho look. Festivals give me a very boho vibe, which is why I would opt for a bohemian inspired outfit.

Are you attending any festivals?

Have a pink-tastic day!
