5 Makeup Tips for Glasses Wearers

Hi Babes! How are you all feeling during this fashion month?

In today's video I'm sharing my tips for glasses wearers, so check those bellow and don't forget to subscribe, it would make my day!

1. Brighten and Conceal under the eyes, as glasses tend to cast shadows which can make you look tired. A bit of concealer could change the situation lightening up your eyes.

2. Define those brows! The brows frame the face and help balance it out, especially when wearing glasses.

3. Make your eyes pop. Using lighter eyeshadows will make your eyes stand out, since darker shades could make your eyes look sunken. Defining the crease and under waterline also helps attract attention to the eyes.

For blue eyes try using earthy tones, taupes, grays, silvers.
Brown eyes suit shades like greens, pink, gold, champagne tones best.
Green eyes are highlighted by purples, orange undertones, browns, gold tones.

4. Voluminous mascara will make your eyes seem bigger, without making your lashes touch the lens, which could end up bothering you.

5. A touch of nude / white liner in the waterline will make you look more awake. You could try a combination of both, like I did in the video. Add the nude liner in the waterline and the white in the inner corner for an extra oomph.

Bonus Tip: Powder the face to avoid the transfer of foundation on your glasses.

The Burberry Coat

The Burberry coat is a worldwide style icon, easily recognizable thanks to its classic and sleek design. Originally designed in 1912 by Thomas Burberry to protect officers from wind and rain, the coat combines beautifully with any outfit or, as I dared to style today, transformed as the main focus of the outfit.  While it is a fabulous layering pieces, it's even more stunning repurposed as a dress.

As you know, at the heart of my blog remains the motive of reusing and repurposing the clothing items already in our wardrobe. I do adore shopping, however using a piece of clothing only as intended is quite boring and fashion is adventurous. To transform it into a dress, I let the coat slide off mu shoulders buttoning it down at the chest. To create the effect of puffier balloon sleeves, I tightened the buckles at the wrists. Since it is London after all, the need of something warm underneath was real, so I added a black turtleneck. Not only does it keep my warm, but it creates a contrast with the coat, while still mixing well together.

It was fun to style, wear and looked chic. Would you wear your trench like this?

In this post I want to share with you a round-up of all the stand out creations from this New York fashion week, from different designers. Of course, when I say stand out I mean for me, we're not all going to like the same collections. I love admiring each collection for what it is, even though it doesn't always suit my style. However, today I'm sharing those pieces that I would adore to have in my wardrobe.

Which were your favorites?

Zimmermann Spring 2018

There are some designers's collections that just bring me joy to discover and Zimmermann is one of them. I included one of the gorgeous designs in my luxury birthday wishlist, still in love with it. When I look at this collection it just screams Zimmermann, you would be able to pick it up from a line up. It has the usual vibes, I wouldn't say it's anything groundbreaking, though there are some fresh elements to it.

As usual we have a lot of bohemian and romantic floral patterns with feminine silhouettes. I adore the ongoing takes on statement sleeves, visible in the Zimmermann collection through puffy shoulders, bell sleeves and balloon sleeves all in one. Another element that I love was the one off shoulder styling, which reminds me of my style in high school. One off shoulder was my thing, so I'm happy it's coming back. Of course all of the fabrics are light and flowing, a dream. Predictable? Yes, but beautiful nonetheless.

What do you think of this collection?

Dealing with a bad haircut - 5 Tips

I'm the kind of person who has never cried over hair. Honestly, in 26 years of my life I've never had such a bad haircut that it put me in a negative mood, so probably it was meant to happen eventually.

Even when I was little and my mother cut my hair like a little boy I didn't care, it was all good. While visiting Bucharest I decided to book an appointment to have my hair cut. I was looking to refresh it, cut the ends off and make it flow nicely again. Strangely, I wasn't looking to cut it into a bob style. I say strangely because I usually let my hair grow extremely long only to have it transformed into a short bob. Not this time!

At the hair appointment I let the guy know the desired style and effect telling him to cut about 3cm from the length, but letting him know that if it would end up a bit shorter I wouldn't mind. Was this my huge mistake? Giving him the opportunity by saying I wouldn't cry over a haircut. Who knows! What I do know is that by the end of it my hair was 10-15cm shorter with 3 straight layers. Nothing blended, it looked horrible! A two year old would probably have done a better job. Just to put it into perspective, it was so bad I had to book a second appointment, obviously elsewhere. So let's get to my 5 tips for dealing with a messy/disastrous haircut.

1. Repeat the mantra: It's just hair, it's going to grow back! Crying over it won't fix it, so why shed tears and emotionally drain yourself about it?! Honestly, this is the reason why I've never cried over hair cuts that ended up being shorter than expected/wanted. As long as the form is good, you can make it work. It all about a positive attitude when dealing with challenging situations. Of course, no one is expecting you to be happy about an unfortunate event, but try to remind yourself there are always solutions, which leads us to :

2. Book a second appointment. Instead of moping around about how horrible that experience was, go ahead and book another appointment to fix the situation. This time be very explicit about what you want. Have some inspirational pictures prepared with you to make sure the message get's across clearly and make sure to book an appointment with someone you trust. Something my hair stylist once told me was to be careful because not all hairdressers know how to handle every kind of hair. Some of us have thin or thick hair, straight, wavy or curly, it all behaves differently and needs someone who knows how to manage it. In my opinion a professional stylist should be able to create beautiful styles with all different kinds of hair, but sadly that isn't the world we live in.

3. Search new hair styles, you might be surprised by all the cute styles you could achieve. You could use tools, hair accessories or just create different braids to make it look cuter or sexier or simply your own kind of better. Trying to keep a positive attitude will for sure help a lot.

4. Treatments. If you feel like nothing you do to your hair brings out a smile, try researching different hair treatments meant to help your hair grow stronger faster. Something like doing a natural mask with castor oil and olive oil, but be careful as castor oil is a b*tch to wash out. Go on Pinterest, you will find loads of DIYs, most of them with ingredients you might already have in your fridge and pantry.

5. Report the crime. This one sounds so dramatic, however if you want to help others, which may make you feel better in the end, call the salon to tell them about your bad experience. You wouldn't necessarily have to give your name if you didn't want to. If you don't feel brave enough for that and the salon has reviews on different sites, you could comment about your experience. However what I find important here is to do it tastefully and thoughtfully. Explain your hair type, request and result at the hairdresser without trying to get that person fired, because like I said she/he might not be good with all hair types. This way people how have a similar hair type to you will know better and hopefully it will encourage more people to speak freely about their experience.

Bonus Tip: If you can't wait it out, get hair extensions or a wig. This could end up being a lot of fun, you could experience different hair colors and hair cuts all while growing out your beautiful hair out.

The month of fashion weeks has started in New York with a bang, so much inspiration and excitement. So far one collection managed to stand out from the rest, thanks to the airy and serene vibes. The mix of fabrics and cuts create a beautiful feminine effect. Here are some of my faves from the collection.

Chanel, Ruffles & Flared Jeans

Ladies and Gents, I have just found my autumnal uniform. It's chic, comfy and so many kinds of cute.  The ruffled sweater isn't just trendy, but also warm and fun. The reason autumnal clothing can sometimes seem boring is because of unimaginative sweaters, though sometimes those are the best. However, having sweaters with ruffles or bell sleeves or crazy fun prints can transform your outfit from drab to fab.

The flared jeans are pure 70s goals and add character to any outfit. I remember rocking these, not this exact pair - similar ones ahaha, when I was about 14 and loving them, they were everything at the time and 12 years later they're back! The best part? Just about any brand does them, so you can find them in your favorite denim wash quite easily.

A bit of Chanel never hurt, so to finish the look I added my beloved Chanel bag and a choker. Shoe wise I opted for heeled pointed toe ankle boots. The combo of the flared jeans and pointed boots elongate my legs and looks chic.

Fall Trends: Blue Bell & Navy Peony

You will notice a recurring trend that I keep incorporating, while styling and presenting you other trends, is the feminine satin garment. It has to be my favorite, because I subconsciously keep styling outfits with it. As beautiful as it is, satin isn't out main focus in today's fall trends outfit.

Today I chose to combine two color trends, the "Blue Bell", a light blue shade that gives a soothing feel, and "Navy Peony", an intense and mesmerizing blue. The two combine beautifully together, but in order to create some contrast I added a pair of colorful sneakers and a wide white belt

The dress is very feminine and elegant, thanks to the satin, but in order to tone it down I paired it with a jeans coat and sporty sneakers. This way it has a cool and trendy vibe. You could go from day to night with just a change of shoes, just swap the sneakers for a beautiful pair of heels.

Which of the two blues is your favorite?

Fall Trends: Red to Toe

Red to toe is one of the most fun yet challenging trends of the season. We all know that red is sexy and empowering, but throwing on a flirty red dress would have been the easy way. I wanted to create an all red outfit that would be appropriate for work. Something elegant and stylish, without looking mental.

The base combines a classic cut red blouse with a silk a-line midi skirt. Look at the movement this skirt has!! It's amazing, it just makes you want to dance and twirl. There's a lot of red, so a nice wide belt helps highlight your waist and we already know waist belts are one of this fall's trends. The secret to making a red to toe outfit work are different textures and shades of red. You'll notice the bag, bracelet and watch are a darker red shade with faux crocodile texture. The peep toes are satin, which gives elegance and it's incorporating the satin trend

Overall it works, however you do need a lot of confidence to walk around the city and office like this. It will get you some curious looks, but remember it's all in good fun, as fashion should be. If you're not loving the "Red to Toe", but still want to play around with the red trend, add some red accessories to your outfits.

Would you rock a red to toe outfit?

Fall Trends: Feminine Leather & Butterum

I have to say this whole fall series is extremely enjoyable and is expanding my styling sense. It's helping me view all of the trends in a more open way and with an eye for styling, always thinking which trends would go with my style and how to combine them together. Today's two trends are feminine leather and the color "butterum", however I also incorporated the satin trend we discussed last week.

Do you fancy these two trends?
