5 Instagramable Places in London

Today is the day in which I'm going to share all the secrets for perfect picture locations. Don't you just hate it when you find a gorgeous background in someone's picture either on Instagram, their blog or Pinterest and when you check out the location tag it says something general like Notting Hill or Primrose Hill? Honestly, it drives me crazy that some bloggers try to keep their locations secret, as if others shouldn't have access to them.

With one of my best girlfriends visiting me in London, we were on a mission to find the cutest and prettiest, for us, locations to shoot in. While searching through the pictures I had saved on Instagram, something became very clear: everyone tags general locations. Today I'm going to tell where these fabulous locations are, in case you visit London and want to snap a picture next to a fabulously pink or pastel house.

This time around, we were looking for girly pastel locations, which thank God, London has a lot of, mostly concentrated in the North West area. I quite enjoyed researching the locations, taking the pics and writing this post, so if you do too, I'll create more of them. Let me know. Now, are you ready?

Fall Florals and Pearl Boots

After sharing my new autumn finds in last week's haul, I wanted to style some of the pieces as soon as possible. In that video I shared my love for the pink jumper styled with the floral dress and I stand by that enthusiasm, they look amazing together. Also, these are by far the most fabulous boots this fall and they can be styled with any outfit if you have a bit of imagination. As mentioned in my haul, they are edgy yet feminine and fabulous.

Have you found your favorite boots for this season?

Wardrobe Staple: Cashmere sweater

Truth be told, I have been a shopaholic since forever, which in my case has meant shopping a lot of fast fashion and that wasn't the best for my wallet or the environment. In the past couple of years I have made a few conscious decisions to shop less, but better quality and staple pieces.

One of the staples for autumn and winter is a cashmere sweater. It's incredibly soft and keeps you warm, thanks to it's "thermostatic" properties. While it is a very luxurious item, that doesn't mean it has to be untouchable as many brands create cashmere sweaters nowadays. You can find it from high-street brands like H&M, ZARA, M&S to luxurious brands like Prada, Haider Ackermann, Zadig & Voltair.

Would you invest in a cashmere sweater?

Blue Satin in Fall

The weather in England might be gray and cold, but I don't want it to influence my style to the point that I look like a fluff ball daily, so I made a note of buying a pair of extra warm tights. This has allowed me to wear dresses in fall, be it jumper dresses or normal ones with warm jumpers on top. I would call that a win over autumn. My favorite part of this outfit is how the luscious blue satin pops against the dark grays and black. We've already approached satin as a fall trend, but I still adore the look of it.

Are you still in love with the satin trend?

Figure Hugging Jumper Dress

At the beginning of the month I professed my love for jumper dresses and now, almost at the end of the month I'm still loving them. This one is a figure hugging jumper dress with a bit of a sexy vibe, but still perfect for everyday wear. It just sits right on the body and makes you feel good, something that is hard to achieve. Seeing the colder weather, I would highly suggest wearing tights and boots with it, to keep warm and stylish.

Are you going crazy over jumper dresses?

Statement White Shirt - 3 Reasons why you need one

My love for dressy shirts started in Uni, when I begun elevating my day to day style. I started buying blouses in all the colors of the rainbow, until I realized there was one shade missing: white. So I started obsessing over white dressy shirts, to the point that I now have 9 of them. They're just so easy to wear and elevate any outfit. Today I styled the latest addition to the collection and I'll also share with you 5 reasons why you should add a statement white shirt to your collection. Curious? Keep scrolling.

What's in my Bag + 5 Bag Essentials | Carina Vardie

How's your week so far babes? Happy for the weekend?

Here's a cute video to cheer you up. I'm sharing what I like to carry around, plus five bag essentials every woman should carry in her bag. Let me know in the comments what your bag essentials are and what bag size you prefer. I love smaller bags because they don't hurt my back, I sound like a grandma👵, but that's how it is ahaha.

Have a pink-tastic day!
Kisses.

1. Card holder. It's pretty obvious. This enables you to have just the necessary cards and a bit of cash. It works with both small and big bags.

2. Tissues. I bet everyone has been at least once in a situation where they needed a tissue and didn't  have one, how frustrating was it? When the weather gets colder my eyes water a lot because of the cold air and I look so silly when I don't have any tissues, but my face is full of tears. Also, having a runny nose and no tissues is a disaster, so always keep a pack.

3. Sanitizing wipes. These should be a staple especially when traveling and feeling germaphobe so you can sanitize the area you sit in or table, but also if you use public transport.

4. USB Stick. A good habit to start forming today is to have a back-up of important documents or presentations when you're having a meeting out of office, don't just rely on your computer. Of course, I wouldn't suggest keeping anything confidential over there just in case you loose it. I started keeping a USB in my bag in Uni and it saved me on multiple situations.

5. Bandaids. While shoes are gorgeous pieces of art, at times they can be cruel and give you blisters. Such a complicated love story ahaha, but seriously now, since sadly shoes can cause blisters it's best to be ready for the worst.

Bonus Tip: Feminine products. What's the worst kind of surprise you could get? You guessed it and you wouldn't want to be unprepared, so don't. Always be prepared and ready to help a girl out, just in case one of your girlfriends needs you or a stranger.

Asymmetrical Dream with Rock Vibes

We've noticed in both the Paris and New York Fashion Week round-up that the asymmetrical trend is here to stay and play. It almost felt as if it would replace the off shoulder trend, which has been delighting us these past few years. To be honest both trends are amazing and look flattering on everyone, so in my eyes one does not exclude the other. Even if the off shoulder trend stops being all the craze, I would still style the off shoulder pieces in my wardrobe.

This fab dress incorporates not only the asymmetrical trend, but also has ruffles, which only contributes to the sweet and feminine feel of the dress. I adore cute pieces, but today I wanted more character and more of a "fierce punch" to my look, so I styled the dress with fishnet tights and heeled combat boots. The contrast between the dress and fishnet tights creates a lovely effect and I adore the edgy vibe fishnet tights can give to an otherwise sweet outfit.

This dress was a gift from Cari's Closet, Ireland based shop. I mean, it has my name, of course I had to check it out! Have a look if you're curious.

What do you think about this look?

Why it's important to restyle your clothes

Today is very chill, hair up in buns, cozy fluffy jumper on and comfy pink boots to the rescue kind of day. It has gotten quite cool outside and I'm trying to deal with it by wearing my favorite jumper more often than  not. Also, you know what a big fan of faux leather trousers I am, so it was time to start wearing them again.

You all know I am an advocate of rewearing and repurposing the clothing items in our bursting full wardrobes, but today I want to share with you why it's actually important to do so.

1. You get your money's worth if you wear your clothes more than once or more than one season. It's the sensible thing to do, don't waste your money by purchasing trendy items that don't suit your style, because then you're not going to feel comfortable wearing them which will lead to them ending up in the back of the closet. When you invest in good quality pieces that are versatile, you get to enjoy them for many seasons to come and they are a pleasure to style.

2. Having to wear different clothing pieces multiple times gets your creative juices flowing, as weirdly as that wording sounds. Knowing that you've worn that particular item already, you'll want to style it differently which means you'll experiment more and be more imaginative. If you feel like you're in a rut check out Pinterest for more inspo.

3. Reusing your clothing means less throwing away which leads to less waste. The fashion industry has a major negative impact on the environment, so thinking twice about what you discard is becoming crucial. A lot of brands have started sourcing sustainable materials, but it's as important for us to practice conscious consumerism.

Dare to Pop

We all know red is having a bit of a moment, we talked about it a while back, but wearing head to toe red isn't everyones cup of tea. Today I wanted to style a preppy look with a pop of red. The easiest and most delicate way to incorporate red is with a scarf and/or lipstick. I added both because they compliment each other nicely and well, because I adore wearing red lipstick. There's just something about it that feels empowering.

Choosing which trends to rock each new season is very important, they need to suit your style and personality otherwise it will look unnatural and you won't feel the best in it, nobody wants that. I have declared my love for red since the beginning of the blog, so the fact that it became a trend this season is perfect. Don't you just love it when the styles you've adored for so long become the "it" trend of the moment?! I do!

In 2013 we had this little number, incorporating my awesome mouse flats, which I still adore even if they stopped being all the craze! My love for red continued in 2014 when red lips and bags were my evening out must-haves. The perfect way to spruce up a simple outfit is by adding a statement piece, in this case it's a flaming red hat as 2015 me has demonstrated. Finally we've come to 2016 still incorporating red in to my outfits, this time via a pair of shorts. This post wasn't meant to become a throwback of my love for red, but here you have the proof that I have been obsessed with red and rocking it since forever. It's not just a trend for me. Red is the color of confidence, boldness, determination, passion and love! Also, I do realize no one asked for proof that I've been loving red for so long, but sharing is caring. *laughs*

Back to today's outfit, like previously mentioned, I went for a preppy style. The jeans tucked in the pointy boots elongate my legs making me seem 5'9, which sadly I'm not. It's the perfect everyday look, put-together with a bit of heels yet comfy and warm with a pop of personality.

Fall's Must Have: The Jumper Dress

Ohhh the jumper dress, is there anything out there more comfy and chic to wear this fall?! Probably not. The jumper dress isn't just cozy, but it keeps you warm while looking put together. Some models can appear a tad too fluffy, but if you opt for a light cashmere mix it's going to be flattering and still keep you toasty.

My styling preference is with over the knee boots, especially if it's quite a chilly day. The over the knee boots elongate the legs, which is a good look on anyone. Since both the jumper dress and boots are in nude tones, I wanted to add some contrast to the look with a black military coat and silk scarf. The contrast is added by the color, but also style of the two. The dress is feminine and soft, while the military coat and skull scarf give an edgy-cool vibe to the whole outfit.

If it gets too cold, you can always layer a slip and some tights underneath, for extra warmth. I will be styling the jumper dress more as we advance into autumn. Maybe you remember this one. Check out these different jumper dresses. Which is your fave?

London Fashion Week Festival

You know that core-touching feeling you get when listening to a song that moves you deeply? I get those butterflies and goosebumps when watching a fashion show, it just gets me excited and inspired. Attending a designer and a trend catwalk at the Fashion Week Festival has been amazing and has gotten me so motivated to create better content. Today I wanted to share with you pictures and a vlog from the Fashion Week Festival, hope you'll love it as much as I did.

London Fashion Week Festival Outfit

You know how sometimes you put together an outfit and then look at the pictures patting yourself on the back for doing a good job? Well, that's how I feel about this one. I had it in my mind planed for months, just waiting for the London Fashion Week Festival to come so I could finally wear it. Of course there were some concerns, like are the colors too muted, but that was fixed by the coat which added a pop of contrast. It was a very chic layering and styling, if I may say so myself.

The dress you will remember from this post, where, again, I wore as a skirt. The heart of my blog is all about reusing and repurposing all of the pieces you have in your wardrobe, which is why I restyled this piece, as I do with many others. Sometimes with so many bloggers, influencers and celebrities always wearing clothing items just once, it may seem normal, but it's not. If you have pieces that you love, you should re-wear them till they fall apart. Also, don't feel bad for wearing the exact same outfit more than once, it's normal. Everyone does it all the time. Don't put pressure on yourself thinking you always have to wear an original look, just be yourself and get the most out of the pieces in your wardrobe.

As you can see, the dress is quite elegant, so in order to tone it down, I added a cropped jumper with bell sleeves. The jumper added warmth and more texture to the outfit. For an extra edge, I styled the dress with over the knee boots instead of elegant pumps. Adding a jumper and OTK boots cuts from the elegance and allows you to wear your fancy dresses more often, which is a win in my books. For some contrast I added the checked coat. Checked coats and clothing in general are very trendy this fall winter and as we could see from different runways, including Fendi, it's going to continue rising next spring summer.

Are you a fan of checked clothing pieces?

Structured Monochrome with a touch of Military

As the weather gets cooler I return to my autumnal style, which is much more structured than what I opted for during the spring and summer. Slowly we're going to also start layering to the moon to keep warm, while still chic. I might do a tips post about layering like a pro, keep an eye out for that in the next week or so. Also, are you enjoying my "5 Tips" series? ( Examples here, here and here

Back to the outfit! Just because fall is here, it doesn't mean it's time to put away the white pants, on the contrary, white pants are going to be a huge thing this fall-winter season. White in general! With a warm blouse/jumper and a coat layered on top, your white summer pants get an autumnal vibe and you're getting more use out of your summer clothes. It's a win-win situation. For this look, I styled the pants with a black turtleneck blouse, because I enjoy the elegance of it, and my ankle boots. If you know me, you know I love a good boot and these ones are the ones for me this season.

Another big thing for fall-winter is the maxi bag. A few years back maxi bags were my favorite, simply because you can carry your life in them. However, they get so heavy and end up hurting my back, which is why nowadays I prefer the mini bag. The mini bag trend brought me so much joy this past spring-summer season and I will continue to use them during fall-winter, BUT it's nice to keep it fresh. The only thing I try to force myself with a maxi bags is not to overstuff them, which I highly recommend. To finish off the look I added my military statement coat, which is another trend this fall and most falls to be honest.

What do you guys think?
