Freaky Halloween

Hi Dolls!

Happy Halloween! For the first time in a long time, I decided to be more spooky for Halloween. Usually I dress up nicely, if you remember last year I went as a flapper girl, the year before as a vampire. This halloween I decided to experiment a little with the spooky side.

For this look I had two inspirations. The first was Cheshire, the cat from Alice in Wonderland, and the second was Ryuk from Death Note, which is an anime character. It was my first attempt at it and I have to admit I had way more fun like this, than I should have. It got me all giggly at how cool it looks. The outfit combined a black lace detailed dress with leggings and small heeled boots.

Have a spook-tastic day!

Wine Tasting in Maribor

Hi Dolls!

Writing from Maribor again, has been a while. We got the opportunity to attend a wine salon type of event, it was the 7th international showcase of wine and delicacy products. They had Slovenian wine and typical food, it was quite a nice event if you're a wine lover. It was also a good opportunity to taste some Slovenian specialties. I found it entertaining and something new to experience, but also a bit tiring. Supposedly we should try something new everyday, so it's always good to branch out. Would you enjoy attending a wine showcase?

Food Diary #10

On todays Food Diary post I want to talk about home cooked meals. I love cooking, but am quite understanding that some people do not enjoy such activities. Here are some reasons why I love it: I can make anything healthier by controlling what goes into my meals, I can adjust everything to my taste palette and cooking is fun, for me at least.

This doesn't mean I don't enjoy eating out, but I am trying to be more health conscious and care for my body. It's ok to have cheat days, so don't get upset if you eat out, but try to have just a cheat day or two per week. If you're someone who hates cooking or just like to eat out a lot, try to find some healthier restaurants or healthier alternatives at your favourite restaurants.

We made a healthy pineapple cake with whole wheat flour instead of white one, coconut milk instead of cow milk, coconut oil instead of butter, etc on the healthy alternatives. It turned out amazing, I hadn't expected it to be this good.

Update/Rambling Post

Hi Dolls!

It seems like I haven't done a rambling post in a long time. I like just talking and updating you on what has been going on. Sadly there haven't been any outfit posts this month and I don't know when that will happen again. Part of the reason is that I have moved to a new apartment with a girlfriend, which kept us busy. Between finding a place and then cleaning, decorating, time flies by and I didn't get around to take pictures. The other part would be the weather, since I rarely take pictures in freezing weather. I really need to develop a strategy that allows me to take photographs without freezing.

By the way, I don't like moving! The expectations are always high and you get disappointed when your dream apartment hasn't already been created by someone else. Not to mention the actual moving where you have to transport all you stuff, it's painful and exhausting. I just wanted to trow away half of it, which I didn't. Considering that I donated a lot of shoes and clothing this year, I don't know where all these items came from. While moving I told myself that it was time to stop shopping so much, however after two weeks while trying to find a cute outfit I felt as if I had no clothing. How is this possible? I am rational and see my closets are full, but still can't find a cute outfit sometimes. At least I respect the rule of donating everything I didn't wear in a year, with small exception to "sentimental items".

I want to get back into a fitness routine. I am quite slim naturally, but I want to get toned . I bought some new fitness clothing, which I'll share with you in an upcoming outfit post. Getting new sport gear motivates me to exercise more. Is it just me? It was one of my resolutions for this year to be more fit, so I have to keep trying. I go through periods where I'm super into it and go every day, but then I slack off for a long period of time. Part of the problem is that I don't have a fitness studio near me and I loose a lot of time on the way there. I am not the type of person to run or exercise outside, nor will I ever be.

November should me more interesting, since I will be traveling. I will try to take a lot of outfit pictures but also traveling ones. I'm not going anywhere new, but still am incredibly happy to travel.
What have you been up to?

Red Lips Obsession

Hello my Dolls!

I have to admit my obsession for red lipstick. Some of you might think that having five red lipsticks isn't a lot and others my think it's kind of unnecessary. Truthfully it is unnecessary to have five different shades of red lipsticks and I was happy even when I had just two. For me red lipsticks inspires elegance and looking sexy, being bold but classy, if that makes any sense.

Some of the shades may look alike, but they are all a little bit different. The NYX one is the softest and easiest to pull off anytime. MAC Morange and YSL Nr. 13 look more similar in picture than they are in real life. The YSL one is more red toned, while the MAC one is more orange toned and warmer. For me the YSL shade is a year round lipstick, while the MAC one I tend to use more during spring and summer, do to the orange tones in it. MAC Red and Chanel Nr. 104 look almost identical in the photograph, but there is a difference. MAC Red is cooler toned, more of a berry red lipstick and the Chanel one is a shade warmer. They are similar, but unique at the same time. My favourites at the moment are the Chanel and the YSL one. Which is your favourite red lipstick?

Happy two year anniversary to the blog!

Today is the second anniversary of the blog and I couldn't be more happy! I can't believe I mustered the courage to start my own blog and have maintained it so long. It is true that I haven't been posting as much as I wanted or as regularly, but I still didn't quit. I'm happy for all you lovely readers out there and hopefully I'll post even more in the future. Till then have a pink cupcake to celebrate the second anniversary and lots of love to you all!

The Body Shop Haul

Hi Dolls!

As a huge The Body Shop fan, I decided to show you a quick haul with my latest purchases. I love almost everything they make, but am especially enchanted with their shower gels. They smell lovely and the scent lingers for a while. Since the beginning of the year I have been testing out one of their skincare ranges and am quite pleased with them as well.

A great plus is that they use at least some fair trade ingredients in their products, but also The Body Shop is a natural brand which sustains to stay away from any kind of ingredients that have been tested on animals. They are part of the L'oreal Group which has been accused of animal testing, however L'oreal confirm on their webpage to no longer engage in such tasks.

I got a few shower gels, a blueberry scrub ( which smells like jam! ), a face scrub, a serum and a loofa. It's a mini haul, but I still hope you'll enjoy seeing it. If you'll like a review on any of the items let me know in the comments below, otherwise I'll let you know if anything disappoints me.

Paris Fashion Picks : Chanel

The Chanel Show caused some controversy this year and not because of the new styles which debuted this season in Paris. If you haven't seen the grand finale of this years show, than you are probably wondering what I'm talking about. It's quite simple and everywhere in the media. The show ended with a feminist protest. Now the problem may be that not everyone agrees that the ending incorporates the true feminism values, however the whole thing might have been a joke. What did you think about the ending?

Back to fashion, Chanel is one of my dream labels, which is why I decided to dedicate a whole post to my favourite items from the show. As always a classical vibe dominated the show, with clean cuts and soft materials.
